The Omega Cannon in multiplayer always ends in a suicide for me... :(
After some toying around, I think I've figured it out. When the Omega Cannon explodes, if you have an unobstructed line of sight to it then it will most likely kill you, but if you are behind some obstacle, then you will survive even if the shot explodes close by. It is possible to shoot if so far away that it won't kill you even if you look at it, but its hard to do. So just remember when you shoot it to take cover quickly and wait until it explodes. (While experimenting against some bots I also managed to get a Triple Kill with the Omega Cannon )
I haven't seem the Omega beam thingy, so I don't know what that looks like. 1 player mode only, right?
Imperialist is the best because I get to snipe people from way up above, and I manage to kill them like 5 times before they realize where they're at. Also, I get lotsa headshots with Imperialist, even when not aiming at the head. Being able to zoom makes it worthwhile too.
Probably the Shock Coil; it was the most fun to use in single-player. I don't play multi-, so I can't base my opinion off that. Judicator is a close second. I don't get what's so cool about the Imperialist: it's far too slow and sniping is generally pointless to me. Then again, I don't play against other people and have never been into the whole FPS thing where sniping is supposedly omg awesome, so I wouldn't know.

People like the imp cause it's a one hit KO if you can land a scoped headshot on someone, and in multiplayer, lotsa times you can just aim in your opponents general direction and you'll get a headshot on em. Or at least, that's what usually happens from my experience.

In hunters single player, most rooms arent big enough to make sniping useful anyway. However, Alinos Gateway (sp) is a mulitplayer map, so that would give you the idea of the scale that makes it worthwhile.
Also, is it just me or is the judicator as strong as a missile? I never used other weapons except for weakneses or puzzles until i got the Coil.
i am not much of a strait shot so i relly on the shock coil since it has slight homm on the foe. and since i am more "hard to hit" then a "hard hitter" basicly because i zigzag like crazey on multiplayer and make unpredictable movements. not only but since i am always sylux i use his lockjaw bombs at rapid sucession to hover fair distances.
even though i don't alt spam i usually do what i can. hog up afinity orbs,energy orbs, and just pursue the foe with lockjaw and drain them with the shick coil
i like the shock coil since i real live i brobably have worse aim then someone blind. basicly i go berzerk on the oponent while useing it to win.
