was randomly looking at the trophy list and discovered i only have a few left to get to platinum. i don't really care about trophies, but the rest don't look very difficult, and it would be nice to have at least one platinum. the only potentially time consuming one is getting a settlement to max happiness, but there's tutorials online for that now. i'm gonna go for it

man i've been playing more this weekend and the dlc is way bigger than i was expecting, i'm loving the variety. i guess it helps that i've never played a bethesda dlc before, so i have nothing to compare it to.

i'm on the second round of quests at far harbor, and i've only just visited the other two factions, so i suppose i'm maybe halfway through? maybe a little less

You didn't plat any of the Skyrim DLC? Aww man :(
red chamber dream
is it any good? i've been thinking about going back and playing it

finished far harbor yesterday, i enjoyed it even more than the main game. now i've got just one trophy left for the main game platinum today (get a settlement to max happiness)

then i think i'll get back to uncharted 4 and find all the treasures. want to play that game again before i solidify my opinion of it, too

From what I heard, Dawnguard was pretty much just more Skyrim but with vampires. Hearthfire was a house-building dlc, so if you're into that then it's great but if you don't care about owning land and customizing it and stuff then meh.

Dragonborn though was a huge DLC expansion, towns and dungeons and abilities and stuff. I think Dragonborn is equal to Far Harbor in terms of content

Plus I'm pretty sure at this point you could get a bundle of all 3 DLC for like $5
red chamber dream
i don't have the pc version
red chamber dream
i remember not being interested in hearthfire or dawnguard at the time, still don't think i am

might try dragonborn though
My sweetie is playing fallout 4 now. He says he just left the vault.  We've never played any fallout games before.  What can he expect?  Any general pointers?
red chamber dream
pick either melee or guns, don't try to put skills into both
red chamber dream
don't raise your stats evenly, focus on the ones you like most
red chamber dream
explore as much as you want, don't feel like you need to do the story missions immediately

that said, if you follow the story off the bat, at least to the first big city, a lot of opportunities open up

if you want to use guns i'd recommend sticking with just one class of gun, so pistols, rifles, or heavies

each class of gun has a different set of perks you can put points into

Go up to rank three of having and lockpicking asap do that you always have access to everything, but never ever ever pick rank four of either.

Get Idiot Savant asap, regardless of your intelligence.

Pick up as much junk as you can carry. As the game goes on you'll learn what's more worthwhile, but at the start you can use everything anyway. There's a way in the junk tab to tag materials so do that stuff that contains what you tagged will have a magnifying glass by the name, which is super useful for spotting the good stuff.
red chamber dream
oh yeah idiot savant rules

you don't need much intelligence for most of the game, maybe 6 points or so, so i. savant is amazing
red chamber dream
if you want my personal opinion, the luck skill tree is one of the best to invest in. its perks make combat great if you use vats all the time, which imo you really should
red chamber dream
oh the perk that lets you breathe underwater is nice, and it's just one point too

Next batch of DLCs has been announced.

One coming out next week adds conveyor belts and shit. Sounds dull.

Next month is a pack that lets you build you own vault. Sounds much better.

The final one, out in August, is called Nuka World and is story DLC set in a town made out of an abandoned amusement park. Should be cool.

iirc the first one had some cool new building pieces and stuff like elevators. i'm pumped for that

i will definitely be building a vault, and nuka world looks great. heard you play as a new character in it but i hope/wish that's not true

I highly doubt that. That's never been the case in any Bethesda dlc.
red chamber dream
ah well that's good to hear

finally got max happiness in my main settlement last night. my first and probably only platinum trophy!

the way you do it is really stupid. build like 17 level 3 shops (but only certain kinds actually raise happiness) then stand in your settlement and wait. for like 5 hours ...
Not impossible
just highly unlikely
That is absurd.
red chamber dream
yeah i was watching rick and morty while i waited, checking in once in a while

apparently if you leave your settlement, happiness stops going up lol

just highly unlikely
Happiness is fucked up, haha. It seems to go up and down randomly for me. I just ignore it.
