I'm gonna start up Fusion again to see how I do. Unfortunately Right now, Hurricane Charlie is about to strike so I cant now.
Nate: Yes, I sent it to the Texas address you PM'd me.

And w00t! Finally managed to complete Diamond Cup on Expert diffculty in F-Zero GX (I know, off topic again but the last times I had tried for it I couldn't even come close, this time I managed 1st on 3 tracks, 4 on the 4th one, and like 21st on the last one, but still was ahead of the Rival  :) )
heh. That is hard. I have to beat Emerald and Diamond on Master.
Last time I tried Master difficulty I got schooled...on the 1st cup (Emerald I think). The only thing I have going for me is the fact that the custom car I built works really well for me.
Heres a hint. You are gonna have to boost your life out to win. BOOST IT! The first cup is actually ruby and I nailed that one. Saphire, I was lucky.

I'm already doing that...barely won on expert Diamond Cup on the 3rd track (though my car was BUILT for the 1st track, which I own the computer at no matter the difficulty).

In most cases I'm really not sure how I could boost any more without losing control of the car. I'm already boosting in spots that are PITA enough to keep control...

EDIT: I managed to complete Ruby Cup on Master...none of the tracks gave me all that much trouble after a few practice runs.
Sapphire Cup, however, the 1st (Big Blue) and 5th (Mute City) tracks are incredibly difficult. Mute City is mostly survival, while Big Blue the computer AI seems to be exponentially higher than any other track :?

EDIT2: Just managed to beat Diamond Cup on Master.
Cosmo Terminal: Trident - 1st place with a 17 second lead over 2nd place - 100% speed
Sand Ocean: Lateral Shifts - 1st place with a 7 second lead over 2nd place - 100% speed
Fire Field: Undulation - 1st place, won by .025 seconds (yes that's 25/1000 of a second) - 100% speed
Aeropolis: Dragon Slope - 15th place - 50% even
Phantom Road: Slim-Line Slits - 23rd place - 30% acceleration

EDIT3: Beat Emerald Cup on Master. Just need Sapphire now.

EDIT4: Sapphire Cup on Master complete! AX Cup is open...and the last AX track is just plain brutal!

One last EDIT: AX Cup Master difficulty complete! Just need to finish all the story modes on Hard and Very Hard now!
Wow! you were busy. I haven't played in a while so I better get playing again. Embarassed
The trick is to just boost like crazy and take low place finishes on the tracks you aren't particularly good at. I got 25th on Big Blue and Mute City and still won Sapphire cuz I got 1st on the other 3 and "fixed" the results with a little creative destruction  Twisted Evil
funny, I thought this was a metroid forum. but yeah I can't even do the first shaft like w. Dawgs did I suck.

It is, we just get off-topic here and there...because we can  :P
I am really hoping that this isn't a new trick, but since Dawgs didn't do it in his 100% (which I just watched a part of (I havn't had the computer power earlier)) I'll post it here.

In TRO, there is a large room with a missile expansion. I think it's down in the lower left of the map. The room has 1 red and 1 blue larva thing. Anyway, to get the missile expansion, you first bomb the floor, and then roll to the right and fall down a crumble-block. Dawgs also left a bomb on the way to make a faster way up again. Well, the block he destroys with a bomb can be destroyed with a normal shot, saving a few seconds, and 2 missiles.

And that's all I have to say here. Now I'll go back to my FFXI playing, since random factors in Fusion stops me from getting my first segment done (looking for tricks is also slowing me down, big time). I might keep on trying, but it will go slower since school starts on thursday...
By the time you grab the missile, the bombs have already exploded.

Unless I'm thinking of something else.
Shifty Leader
That M2k2 guy
WD, I've just been bombing the path, then laying a bomb on the thing above the missile, but then I go back up. I lay a bomb on the exit and right away roll down, drop, unmorph, grab the missile, then hop and climb out. if you're quick enough, and do a short hop and morph in air, you can exit the area before it reforms. sometimes I actually exit the whole room before it reforms, sometimes it reforms ontop of me. Try that, I think it saves time.
I've got some good news and some bad news.

The bad news is, sometime sunday, my six year old brother decided he wanted to watch my any% run tape. When my parents found out that he was messing with it, he had to go sit on his bed. When thay tried to eject the tape, the crappy VCR ate the tape. Thankfully, it only chewed up the ending of the first segment, when I save it. So in my run, after I choose save, it freaks out. It keeps freakin' out for about ten seconds, so I'm leaving a big space between that and segment two.

The good news is, I finished segment two. I did the start of SRX, through save before giant plant, and I'm saved there with 9 Crying or Very sad . I got SO CLOSE to 8, but not close enough. I saved, so there isn't a way to do that segment over without doing segment one over again is there? I had no eye door shots, but I had about 6 seconds worth of mistakes. I know I'm still doing better than WD, and I'll be doing even better after I do four jump gaint plant, and then my uber dangerous SA-X escape. I've managd to do it with a 5 jump GP, and I got past the SA-X, but had some mistakes in AQA, and had 12 at the save.WD, how close were you to 11 in AQA  in your run? I wonder if I could pull that off......

Another thing is, I got lucky and saved on a "good second" so the eye door is being very cooperative, and shoots only about 30% of the time. In my last run, it was pretty much the opposite. *shudders*
ah, good to hear, kridly (except about the 'vhs strikes' part). yeah, lots of people have had messed up ends of segments after they save, so should be no prob. it actually sounds more like the erase head somehow came in contact with the tape (like did you actually see tape come out of the case?). but whatever, maybe my hitachi will be able to read long enough to hear the 'save selected' sound. good luck with segment three and eleven.
Crappit......the tape got stuck in the VCR again :x . I don't know how I'm gonna keep on using this VCR for recording, if this keeps on happening. We do have another VCR in the house, and it's newer, but my parents say I can't use it....maybe I can talk them into letting me use it, but until I do(IF I do...), I don't know if I'll be doing much recording. The tape is still in there, so after I get it out without damaging it to much, I'll check where it's scratched. *sigh*
remember that a new vcr is only $50 (or less).

Hmmm, maybe you forgot.

Quote from Kridly:
I've got a GC, but like W.D. I'm broke.

That was around page 12 or so.

(Don't mind me. I'm just bored.)
Wow, you must have been really bored to find that. Anyway, we got the tape out, and the damage is minor(like lats time)the screen shudders, and there is a bit of static, but that's it(both times). You can easily tell whats going on, and it starts doing that right when I'm saving, so it's not a problem. The reason why it always happens when I'm saving, is because, before I eject the tape, I rewind it to the end of the most recent segment, so I won't have to next time I record(look at all those ,'s. I think I'll still be able to use this VCR, because I won't eject it unless it's at the speace between segments, so it won't matter to much if it gets damaged. My parents are talking about getting a new VCR soon though, but that doesn't mean anything.

Still no progress with segment 3, because I still haven't gotten a four jump giant plant, and when I do I'll probably die trying to get past the SA-X. Man.....I still have two more runs after this one.....maybe three(no hit hard 100% ZM)....I'm gonna have this GBP for a long time. Still nobody waiting for it?
not that i know of, unless w.dawgs suddenly breaks :49 and is gbp hungry or something. actually, i was thinking/hoping/daydreaming it would be really really cool if nintendo released the revolution (the new console) tomorrow and gbps suddenly went to like $5.

hahahahahaha. ah, that really gets me.
PAGE BREAKER
Ready and willing.

lol, you want them to release the next console tommorow to lower the price of gbps? Heh.  :P
I've been trying this for how long?........10 days. I have gotten one 4 jump giant plant. ONE. When I did get it, I proceeded to screw up on the core-x, and then get wasted by Stupid Arsehole-X. I'm going to do five jump giant plant like dawgs did, then do everything else like I originally planned. That should still be aprox. 12 seconds faster than WD did on this segment.(10 seconds added because of save after giant plant)
imo four jump giant plant should be filed under 'possible, but not going to happen.'

How about Sess's 3 jump Giant Plant? ;) I know I shouldn't compare Sess. I mean, that guy is a machine (meltdown anyone?).
heh, he said that was a total fluke, too. probably won't be repeated in a looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong time.
