I was just guessing, doesn't make much of a diofference though. Although, Ridly may be a little easier. I agree that the SA-X and Omega Metroid wouldn't be too hard since you can fight thme with just the charge beam and not even be hit.
actually, for some reason i seem to be having a little bit of difficulty with the SA-X now. I thought i could beat it without getting damage usually, however i guess im outta practice now and i keep dying. I am at the save near the navigation/recharge rooms in sector 1 at 1:12... pretty good for a first time 1% run i think. I could probly do faster if i put some planning into it, but whether or not i feel like a 1% game again, i dont know.

Anyways....still have to beat SA-X... argh!
1% must be really, and truly tough!!  Shocked

Perhaps I might do one some time!
I don't go for any of those specal runs. I am happy when I beat the game and if I am not board of it I will even go back and get 100%. I would never do those 1% runs or no hit runs because they just don't have any point to me. Just wondering though, how many Energy Tanks you got on a 1% run?
You get everything from data rooms, plus 1 missile expansion... so, 15 missiles total, 99 health (no e-tanks), 10 Powerbombs.
Shifty Leader
That M2k2 guy
In my opinion, 1% Fusion runs are MUCH easier than 9% MZM normal runs. I haven't played any other metroid games enough to want to go for low% on them, but they must be at least as hard as the 9% MZM one.
What luck, there's french fry stuck in my beard.
Super Metroid's low percent runs rape the other Metroid games' low percent runs in sheer difficulty.

What about Prime 22%? Or don't you have enough data on that, or by sheer difficulty you mean sustatined difficulty...
Yeah, Geothermal Core is a bitch. Vent Shaft isn't as bad (because I can do it :P) but it's still far worse than anything Super Metroid offered. Well, maybe not Ridley so yeah...
What luck, there's french fry stuck in my beard.

I dunno, I'm trying hard to imagine something harder than Ridley in 14/15% game.

Yeah, especially if a little before I found this site (Which was earlier this year) I had terrible times with him, and that was with about 35%  Embarassed

That is a contender with SM since once again I have a hard time with even 27%.

Oh, and a 3% Fusion is as low as I can get without tossing my Advance across the room, thanks to NIGHTMARE!!! (2 Energy Tanks extra)

If anybody can't figure this out yet, I have a hard time with low percent runs. (Which make them more challenging and fun to me, until they turn into a pain Evil or Very Mad) So, I have a lot of respect for anyone who can really turn down the numbers and manage to get something worthwhile :D
That reminds me. I really need to lower my 1% time.

It's a measly 0:58, but I think that's still the record. At least, I don't recall anyone else posting any lower.
Better than mine...I only got 1:07...though that was segmented and not taped either...and I try new things out and screw around a bit in some areas...when I get back to my single-segment 1% run I'll be curious what kind of time I can manage  Wink
how aggressively do you play when you try the s-s?
Depends on how many times I've failed that day...the more times I attempt it the more likely I'll get peeved for less and less...

Normally I try to be calm when I do it but stuff that shouldn't happen happens and, well, after the same thing happens on multiple runs it kind of gets on my nerves  :?
finally finished my 1%. I got an ending time of 1:17. Not sure whether or not i'm going to do another one any time soon, even though this was WAY easier than a 10% hard ZM. Maybe if i get super fast I'll send in a run. haha.
Honestly, I don't understand how people can tolerate single segment low percent runs... I couldn't finish a Fusion 1% run on the system worth the life of me; I had to use save states :?. Yakuza and Nightmare were... well like masturbating with sandpaper. :P
Then again.

I have sometimes big problems with that damned spider (Yakuza).

Making 1% to me pointless.

I pray that you don't know that from experience  Shocked

You never know with some people.
Yeah, maybe I enjoy killing Yakuza and Nightmare in 1% runs :P
What luck, there's french fry stuck in my beard.
You're nuts. :o
Yakuza and Nightmare in 1% were nothing compared to the Mecha-Ridley and the escape on 10% hard Zero Mission. I had a lot of fun doing my 1% fusion game.

Why don't you try doing that(ZM)stuff without getting hit at all? :P
I think I'll pass...  8)

I dont think i have the skill it takes to do a no hit run...I suppose maybe if i tried real hard for a long ass time i could do it, but i'd rather keep my sanity and play fusion more, cuz fusion r0xers my b0xers.
