No, he said the one above the map room. That one's unavoidable if you go that way, so don't go there. To the right of the elevator, in the room that has the three bugs coming out of the pipe, fire a missile at the top block, second from left, then a beam, and IBJ in. Bomb up and you're in the top right room of Ridley. It's easy to get to the big pterodactyl from there.

I either kill them or if they both go down I jump, wall-jump, grab the edge, jump over it (right then left with the quickness) , grab the left edge, hop left and land on the platform.

EDIT: oh, right, the second page. The dangers of forgetfulness....
I really cannot do that jump. I get the super in norfair instead for my 15%.

Actually, the grabbing the left ledge isn't even necessary, is it? Ah well, whatever.

...doors? You mean the red/yellow glass things? Those are zebetites... if they're not what you're talking about, what are/is?
Oh. Yeah I guess that's what I mean :) I always thought of them as force field doors though. I managed to destroy all but the last one. Gotta get lucky with the expansions...
lol no way
Heh, yeah... I think they're like energy storing tubes for MB... like, that's magma or lava or whatever in them and the heat of it is used to create energy, like the pirates were doing in Prime. They're prolly used as shields because they can be... why not?
What's amusing is that they make worse shields than the pillars they stand on. Imagine if there was just one big wall in front of MB.

Lol. Then you would have to find a back way to Mother Brain, but I wonder if she's vulnerable there.
lol no way
The real question is whether or not she can turn around. If she can't, Samus could just cut out chunks of her till she got to the back of the eye and then missile that.

Then MB would open her eye and shoot the tear like projectiles, which would splash against the wall. Then she would command the cheerios and snipers to take Samus down, which wouldn't work, due to the fact that most of her brain was cut away. Mother Brain would die, but the place wouldn't blow up because the self destruct mechanism was inside her and cut out.
I started my 15% hard run last night. I've just beat Ridley so far I have (optional items)

1 missiles
1 super missile
screw attack
2 energy tanks

Any ideas where I can get another Super without needing Speed booster? I can't think of any more but Crateria and Brinstar... (cursed bad memory works during a 100% run but not a 15%!)
There are 2 just before you fight ridley.... and remember, super missile > normal missile. Heck, I'd take High Jump over a normal missile pack in a hard game.
Yeah I know. the 1 missile I have is the compulsory (I keep forgetting that its compulsory and stick it in as optional... ddduuuhhh Skynes)
There's one in Norfair. Work your way up, go under the hi-jump statue, and go to the green hatch under the room after giant sidehopper. It's two rooms to the right, one room down, one to the left, where you have to freeze the pipe enemy and grab it. Or you could IBJ, i guess.

IBJ works for that? I got it by freezing like four of those guys because I had to IBJ onto the guy! That would have made it a LOT easier!

Yeah, it seems my idea of 2 energy tanks is proven worthless. My new suggestion:
1 energy tank
3 super missiles
Screw Attack
Speed Boost.

Yes, Speed boost makes a world of difference. Although it's not necessary, It makes for quick escapes. I keep accidently skipping the early Crateria super though! Dang it! I should have 6 supers before Ridley in a Normal 15% speed run! I saved before him with 4!
