3D retro Metroids, what do you think?
Great Idea (1)
Could Work (3)
I dunno (1)
hmm, I like them as they are (3)
Awful Idea (13)
I think that nintendo and retro studios should remake all the old 2D metroid games into 3D, especially Metroid Fusion, the setting in this game just suits 3D, and I'd like to see a 3D X organism

WE DON"T NEED MORE REMAKES!

Awful idea. They were made in 2D for a reason, you know, and there's no reason to remake a five year-old game.
my umbrella goes directly to Bankai
we would rather have a remake of a game that needs it (Metroid 2) or have a brand new game (Metroid 5)

Fusion is fine as it is. doesn't need a remake since it is perfectly playable.

Hey there, I couldn't even go that far. :^P

But yeah, remaking Metroid Fusion in 3D is ridiculous on many accounts. For one thing, it's the furthest a Metroid game can possibly get from being a Metroid game. Focusing any more attention on it could upset Metroid fans. Secondly, it's not exactly in need of a remake, since even by today's standards, it's still satisfactorily full of content. The original got a remake because it's easy to see that many of the rooms are just repeats, and so many enemies had been so basic (even if original).

Then there's the fact that Nintendo and Retro Studios have more important projects to focus on. They may have finished Corruption, but I hear Dread is sitting on the back-burner still. As you may not have noticed, it can take years, even for a team as big as them, to produce a good quality game (or as I'm told is Echoes' case, just a game).

But if you still think they should consider it, there's probably a rally going on at the GameFAQs forum.

Metroid Fusion in 3D

Dude, don't even think about making the best game worse.
No, I was implying that Metroid Fusion in 3D has already been made.
Wasn't talking to you. :/  Plus, echoze is not metroid fusion in 3d.
Oh.  It was kind of a joke.  Let's look at what they have in common:

Samus doppelganger (SA-X, Dark Samus)
Creatures that have the ability to possess other creatures (X, Ing)
Character with ability to restrict access to certain areas (Adam, U-Mos)
Difficult/impossible to sequence break

Well, they at least definitely had Fusion in mind while making Echoes.

mp2 is not too hard to SB. you just need to get very far first (or use SWs), while Fusion is unbrekable (except for bob but that's impossible on console atm)

most of mp2's and Fusion's similarities are story-related. that's why mp2 feels so cheap. they just copied some of Fusion's plot points instead of coming up with a more interesting story. i had noticed that long ago but i imagined everyone else had noticed the same too.

If you consider the Bob skip to be a sequence break, then there's already alternate Secret Message method, Reverse Route to Ice Missiles, and early PBs. Those are the only things that can possibly be considered "sequence breaks." The rest, such as skipping Zazabi and Yakuza only lead to glitches and roadblocks. Even if you theoretically could climb one side on the GBA, the game messes up and forces you to go to Yakuza still.

Test is on Monday. Bring a couple No. 2 pencils and scratch paper.

Except that it looks like they had a good idea about what Dark Samus was going to do long before Echoes ever came out because of the Prime 100% ending. And as we know, Prime and Fusion arrived in stores on the same day. Although they may have seen parts of Fusion at some point in the development process for all we know.

But now that you put it that way, yeah... Echoes does have a lot in common with Fusion, minus a few details like the light/dark worlds and the war between Ing and Luminoth. I just never see it that way when I'm actually playing the games.
The reason because I bought this game was the great pixel-art backgrounds and models it uses. Nothing could look better than them.

Don't bump old topics for no real reason. Also, read the rules, because it's obvious you haven't. This is a warning.

Wow, I'm really sorry. Didn't do this intentionally. Gonna pay more attention on the rules from now on. Sorry again.
... So I owe you guys my soul, eh?  aiwebs_016
Are you ready for some underwear music?
I would have to say that 3Ding Metroid Fusion would be a really bad idea. Even though the gameplay would by some miracle be great some boss battles (like BOX or Nettori) would be really spoiled by 3D gameplay.

And what about the Core-X then? I wouldn't even want to see what they look like in 3D graphics. Just think about it.

I can actually imagine those examples in 3D. It's not easy, but if you by some miracle combine all the great minds in every area of game-making expertise, it can certainly happen.

But uh...combining all the great minds in every area of game-making expertise is highly unlikely.

No, you don't need metroid-fusion in 3D or its remake.
You need a game with real innovative game-experience setted after SM.
And now I am making one METROID:ARMAGEDDON.
When I am finished, you will forget about Fusion (how could you not be disappointed? This game is programmed just like a simple fan game)
and redefine game-exprerience to wholly new level. Wink

I know some may contradict me because it is not in their universe to see something more advanced. But after playing METROID:ARMAGEDDON when it is finished all of my critics will quickly change their mind about game-experience. Wink

Tonight, on M2k2, BioSpark flips out about a bad post and BolognaB mods for him.

Yeah, J-SNAKE, don't gravedig old threads just to advertise a fangame just because YOU think you can make it better than Fusion. It's not just against the rules, it's also poor form. Then you go an insult our taste in games having not even been around here very long.

I thought this thread got shot long ago. :^\
