i think i can do it, even though im gonna have a hell of a time with it

required items:

morph ball
missile tank
bombs
unknown item 1 2 3 (3 items)
power grip (a gooey blockage will not let you through until you collect this)
ice beam

varia suit is not required (even through i havent beaten the game with it before) there are no ultra heated routes through this 8% run grin new

The PAL version is the release of the game in the PAL region (basically everywhere except United States and parts of Asia), and 9% hard can only be completed there because of this.

I was attempting fusion no damage on console, failed at yakuzee and 1% (acturally 2% cause I find it kind of hard to skip the first e tank before morph ball)

Yeah, keenen, you AUTOMATICALLY get the varia suit once Gravity Suit is revealed as one of the hidden items. The 9% speedruns actually skip Varia just because it takes so long to get, but it's still in your equipment once you beat the Chozo test. Those are the required pick-ups for normal though, yes.

As for Hard mode, if your ROM is labeled US or JP, you CANNOT get through a certain part of the mother ship unless you have either a second missile tank, a super missile tank, or SA. There's one room that requires either three missiles or SA, and a room on the alternate path that requires 2 missiles, and a door later on that requires a missile. No enemies on this alternate path drop refills, and a save room near this path is removed from Hard mode entirely (not that anyone ever used it in normal).

The European version of the game is different. This page explains it, and provides video comparison of the room.

Also note: If you are in fact a fake account, I request that you refrain from posting in the gaming boards. At least YourAverageJoe doesn't clutter up these places, and SoaponaRope actually contributes to the Hunters board.

I have youtube playthrough with this too. It is quite slow compared my best time, but it will help some players. There is otherways beat 10% hard mode too. I use 4 missile route (2-missile pack).

9% hard is really hard. Best of luck with zebetites. I can,t make it.

Heh it is alot easier say than make. Yeah i almost know how it can be done. If you lost damage your succesrate get missile refills went down and this requires you got missile refill at least with 3-rinkas in at same screen.

But if you can make it "console" i am really surprised. Wink

But the chances of getting three missile refills from the Rinkas onscreen at the same are very low, that's why that section is pretty hard with only 2 missiles.
