When is Metroid2002 going to have a Prime 3 section?

Metroid was a pretty big Alien ripoff to begin with, y'know. And even if it wasn't...

Why do you have to keep calling everything a ripoff of something else? There's like, no original idea any more. Everything is an amalgamation of ideas from previous things. You're too late for originality in fiction.

MP3? A generic shooter? What the hell. Prime games are never 'generic' or 'shooters' by any traditional definition. Prime 3 is every bit as much of a Metroid as any other, but actually changed enough to feel fresh instead of a rehash again. And as for lasting value.. I've replayed it three times already and it's still awesome. Sure, I can't judge for months in the future, much less years, but every other main Prime (save arguably 2) has had plenty of lasting value. Besides, I was referring mainly to the first Prime with that line--still judged by many as the best Metroid, unless they grew up with Super and refuse to accept that it's aged like shit.

Well, after actually playing TP I saw that I was completely wrong about that anyway. I still don't like OOT, but TP was awesome. I was just judging by the horseback scenes and the Balrog. Much like how you were just judging MP3 by the Olympus battle and Norion.

Unlike you, however, I didn't let that cloud my judgment of the final game, so I actually enjoyed it.

And, er, actually, I think it is. TP was awesome, but LTTP is so much more replayable and easier to get into.

I just totally set myself up, didn't I?

But either way... if nostalgia was that powerful for me, I'd love Super more. It was my first Metroid, and I played the hell out of it until Fusion and Prime came out, then I never was able to go back.

M1 and M2, I was able to replay to this day. M1 is still one of my all-time favorites, and it was the fifth Metroid I tried. It just aged better in my opinion--no nostalgia involved.

No, you weren't. Wouldn't you be mad if you were never to get another game like LttP again and I said something like:

"Thank god for that. Instead we get awesome games that age well instead of ones that get left behind like hell but people blindly stick to through nostalgia anyway and then zazabi any time something changes for the better"?

No. Because TP was still great, and I have faith that some day they'll make one as good as LTTP again. And even if they don't..

If I want LTTP again, I'll play LTTP. If I want a series that evolves and becomes fresh enough to be worth playing through another expensive title, I'll play the latest released sequel.

And that's why they make things like ZM and possibly Dread. Sure, ZM was no where near SM's level (besides the controls), but MC was no where near LTTP's either. >_>

WTF? It may be bloody stupid, but at least I can see a tiny bit of justification for the TP->LOTR and MP3->Halo stuff. That, however, is just... baffling.
