Sorry if this topic has been done already, but I'm curious as to what everyone's favorite hacks are.  Also, what does everyone think the most difficult, fun, & impressive ones are.
As for myself:

Favorite:
Tie between Legacy & Cliffhanger (easy version)

Most Difficult:
Impossible & Cliffhanger's regular version

Most fun:
SFI

Most Impressive:
Redesign

I also think it would be way cool if M2K2 had an annual hack awards of some kind, just to kinda add competition into the mix.

Breathe in the Future, Breathe out the Past
This topic feels a bit early seeing as a couple hacks are due within the summer,
so peoples decisions are susceptible to change in a rather short time.

My current top three:
Edit: this is not in order.

Redesign - This will always stand at the top, simply because of it's size and all the work put into it.
It's also alot of peoples first super metroid hack (must be the interweb popularity), so it has nostalgic
value as seeing super metroid in a different light.

Dependence - I wanted to say Golden Dawn (as it has more work put into it),
but I just love Dependence, it has a great feel in all respects. Great aesthetics.

Limit - I love this hack. Haven't played in awhile so I can't remember much to say about it.
Will probably play it again this summer.

As for fun times, cardweaver knows how to make you think, and test your knowledge of special moves,
so I had to give him a mention.
Acclaimed Threshold
Constant Sorrows
1-Cliffhanger
2-Golden Dawn
3-Redesign

Cliffhanger is a no-brainer to me, the bar is just raised there. I'm not sure I can even meet it myself now.  laugh new

After much debate, I think Golden Dawn wins out against Redesign. Though Redesign is a truly amazing hack on a technical level, there were a lot of things I didn't like about the gameplay (personal preferences). Golden Dawn is a very original trip through an entirely new world, with thematic areas that really draw me in. Aside from the infamous Varia gimmick I don't think it really has any weaknesses, which makes in #2 in my book.

Anyway, all three of the hacks above are must-play hacks and all are unbelievably good. And there's a few others out there I've enjoyed too. Cardweaver gets special mention for making awesome halfhacks.
Well, assuming we can't pick our own...

1. Cliffhanger
2. Hangtime
3. Redesign

Cliffhanger was just... epic. So much fun, with difficulty and design.

Hangtime was simply glorious. Grapple beam is my second favorite item (Speedbooster being #1), and I loved the concept of falling and restarting the room.

Redesign was amazing in both it's scope and physics.

Special mention goes to SM: Impossible, and Golden Dawn. Impossible was the reason I joined the forum, and after seeing what all was possible in SMILE, GD was my inspiration to start hacking.
1. Cliffhanger
2. n00bsmasher
3. Redesign

Cliffhanger: DMantra's artistic ability is almost intimidating. Thic hack is a product of hard work.
n00bsmasher: This game made my skills bulletproof. Good AI modifications.
Redesign: Great mapping and use of asm. Would be my favorite mod if physics weren't changed and weapons weren't underpowered.
Hated by all
Cliffhanger Easy-Type: This is one hack I've gotten the farthest into and at least tried to my limits, and I didn't know I could do one-wall-jump and do some other tricks until that hack shoved them into my face. I also love the aesthetics.

Search-For-Items: This hack is pretty good to get through, now that some glitches are gone, I should take a decent shot at it (my other run went somewhat lazily and I said forget it).
Green-Kirby, ROAR!
1. Darknes 2.
2. Super metroid hard
3. Super grapple troid

And yes I know I only got half hacks on my list. But I honestly think they where more fun then GD or SM-R. :/

Breathe in the Future, Breathe out the Past
Darkness Spreads 2 was wicked. Think I'll play that one again soon.
Although i thought Golden Dawn had some great areas, Redesign is my win.
I have not played any new ones since 2007, however.
YAY TEXT
1. Redesign, no competition, its my favourite hack ever.
2. Cliffhanger, DMantra's hack is immensly fun, and it gave me a challenge too :D
3. Well being completely honest, this is my own hack, but if thats against the rules, I'll pass.
1. Cliffhanger (original version), perfect combination of explorational challenge, physical challenge, and puzzles. also has really well hidden items.
2. Gravy, mostly the same reasons, minus the exploration
3. Limit, I don't really remember much about Limit, aside from the fact that it was really fun so... yeah

Impossible gets an honourable mention because it's really hard and made me suck less at SM.
1. Cliffhanger/Redesign I can't decide
3. Limit
4. Soup

defrag in progress
Redesign ftw!
Why? I am not a high-skilled player. Redesign was challenging, but was still playable (and beatable) even for me. After short times of frustration it always gave me a kick to go on. That`s what most hacks don`t manage, so I stopped playing them after an hour.
Still Redesign offers a great time for skilled players and TASers, too, like the runs of Saturn and Cpadolf show.
OMG FLAN!!!!!!!

yes i know what you mean. I just got the morphball, got out back to the landing site, and gave up cause i cant do the mid-air morph to get the bombs( and i admit that i tried to move the platform out of the way in SMILE).

but my favourites are:

1. Redesign
2. Limit
3. Dependence

Redesign's my favourite, cause i like the new system of finding the Chozo guardians to get into tourian. SO MUCH BETTER THAN THE ORIGINAL WAY!

Kudos to Drewseph. And also Kudos to everyone who puts the time into making any hack.
1. cliffhanger

2. eris

3.rbo insane

4.pudin

5.presicion
The best one for me is either redesign or cliffhanger.

Other good hacks are:
impossible and RBO Insane (for those who are looking for hard challenges ofcourse)
Legacy

Hacks I didn't like:

SFI
Eris

Hacks that I do not have a clear opinion yet:

Expansion EX or something like that (or not XD)
Patheon

Green-Kirby, ROAR!

Phazon Vasteel Autobot
Item searching
- Eris
- SFI

Exploration
- Redesign (even with the annoying physics and Chozo Guardian stuff, it's really impressive)

It seems that the discipline and rule structure has become INCREDIBLY lax here... I'm surprised M2K2 isn't full of trolls already...
Yoshi is back
Yeah, I know. Thats really odd. but it still stands...with BioSparks luscious dick and urmom posts....
Green-Kirby, ROAR!
HEY, NICE JOB BUMPING THE TOPIC, AGAIN! <_______________________________<;
1. Pantheon
2. Legacy
3. Redesign

Honestly, Pantheon was really brilliant. I loved how mazy it was and how fun it was too! Very Happy
