What's your favorite area in Metroid Prime 3? (you can vote for three) (choose up to 3 options)
GFS Olympus (1)
Norion (4)
Bryyo Cliffside (7)
Bryyo Fire (3)
Bryyo Thorn Jungle (if you vote for this I will stab you) (2)
Bryyo Ice (12)
SkyTown (10)
Pirate Homeworld (10)
Phaaze (13)
Personally, my absolute favorite was Bryyo Cliffside. I loved the Golem puzzles and the floating spores in the background. Also, the music rocked.

My second choice would be SkyTown and third Pirate Homeworld. The Homeworld had a lot of cool action sequences that helped make up for the annoyingly "red" theme that gave me a headache.

OH ****!!!!
Although bryyo ice was a breath of fresh air, Phaaze was 3 hours worth of it. It takes a cancerous element like phazon and transform it intirelly into a thing of wonder and beauty. Selling the idea that its just..misunderstood. The music thier couldn't be more perfect, the sky was of soft twinkleing stars. And for once in this game i had the true feeling that everyone else on this forum said they never felt, i felt the feeling of lonelyness. I knew that it was up to me to destroy Dark Samus, no one could do it for me or help me out, here less they become corrupted creatures. I was the only one who could do it, its me versus myself.
Second was bryyo ice and third would be skytown..the whole "city in the sky" weres of after playing all three difficulty levels.

Total agreement with above post. That and the feeling of terror it instills.

Not only it's my favorite here, the G.F.S. Valhalla is one of my favorite areas in any game ever. I love everything about it, from visual design to atmosphere and structure.

The E-Cell concept is sexy. Since we don't know what rooms to open with our limited "keys" and the environment there is not exactly friendly, the way things work is that we constantly anticipate our own demise. There's the whole mystery of what could be in that other room we chose not to open, a thought powered by every single E-Cell we find. You keep thinking about the place even though you're not there, it's genius.

We're able to explore the Valhalla as early as halfway through, even though we don't really have to until the very end. It played a very strategic part on my Hyper run because of the Energy Tank there.

And the AU 313 message was brilliant. You know you're in a pickle when a freakin' computer is afraid of what's going on.

The importance of the Valhalla to the game is one of the many reasons why Corruption is aeons ahead of Echoes in my view.

what do you mean by now idea whats in the nest room?!  its one phazon creature after another and none too hard.  but whats the pirate code fore?
Dood Trigger™
Well, did you know what was in every room when you first played the game? I'm talking about my first impression, of course.

If I recall, the Pirate Code allows Samus to control the Leviathan that takes them to Phaaze.

first, yes.  i assumed that the enemies would be phazon creatures and become increasingly hard.  i wasnt expecting ANOTHER hatcher though.  but yay for xray and nova!  as for the pirate code, i dont know... the valhalla is suposed to be optional.  nintendo even stated its optional, and i dont think i even entered there in my last file.

Then you haven't beaten the game at all, the vahalla plays a key role to get the pirate codes so the federation can control the levaithen. If you never went thier once, then you have not beaten the game because it is most certainly not optional. Getting more then 5 energys tanks is optional and you can even narrow that number down to 3.
Dood Trigger™
The code is necessary. If you board the Leviathan without it, Samus won't be able to control it and there'll be no option to travel to Phaaze.
The reuse of Hatchers definitely bothered me, however you can instant kill the one on the Valhalla (at least I did... didn't even eed to pull off a tentacle, it just spun into a wall and, sort of...exploded). As for areas, I personally liked Norion quite a bit, especially because it showed a more militarized aspect of the federation (and looks WAAAAY cooler the the Olympus... guk!)
Elysia was awesome, and very inspiring (although I can see how it could get tedious; it was for me, and I've only completed one 100% run)
And as for Bryyo Ice; well it was the best by far (although I love Phaaze too), because not only was it an homage to Phendrana, but it contained the ultimate powerup: the Screw Attack!
Ironically, a loner.
Norion- well, how can you NOT like a planet when a flipping great dragon hits you and sends you hurtling down an elevator shaft to your very-near doom? I honestly panicked when I saw the meter gague saying- CORE IMPACT IMINENT. If only Ridley had 1% less health....
Phaaze- The living embodiment of plain, ugly corruption. Kinda big for a blob of gunk, though.
But I can't remember the third one I voted for...
But I like Valhalla, if not for anything but the uber trick that I did, saving me 2 energy cells- When I got to the Aurora Chamber, I realised I had used up all my energy cells. Out f rage, I tried screw-attacking to the ledge. I fell. But when I moved forward a bit, I respawned on top of the platform. It was kinda cheap, but it worked!
(sic)
Bryyo Fire just because it was a sort of homage to the ruin parts of Lower Norfair.

Pirate Homeworld (specifically the Command portion of it, as Research was meh and Mining was a letdown) because it was the only area that felt like you were somewhere you weren't supposed to be. Plus that you had through a big part of the planet just to get to one room that was really close to where you first got informed of it.

Phaaze because you were at the heart of Phazon itself, and the huge vertical drops that were in some of the rooms.

Biggest letdown? Bryyo Ice. It should have been longer, and you went through all of it on your first time in the area.
Pirate homeworld because it didn't seem like such a dramatic movie structure (I'm looking at you Norion).

Heh laugh new
Don,t go stab me i vote it.

Seriously thorn jungle is pretty great place.
Pirate homeworld are as well interesting and Bryyo fire, bryyo cliff too.

I hate most valhalla and phaaze. Both place annoying me so much. Elysia like sometimes borring too, because this is very huge maze and it take me lot restarts my speedrun, because i always choose wrong way. I never learn play Elysia.
Hated by all
The Valhalla's not on the list? I'm ashamed.

Anyway, Elysia's SkyTown for the Music, and Phaaze because it's the final area and cool like that.

1. Bryyo Cliffside
Mostly everything about it in that place I like. It has the most unique of alien environments in the Metroid Prime trilogy and I like the music there. (I'm still wondering of how to get the lyrics to it.)
There's this one room that connects to the Thorn jungle. It is the Machineworks Bridge with the machinery looking like alien horse-dragons coming in and out of the darkness on each side.

2. Phaaze
Even though this environment is poisonous and cancerous, it's beautiful to look at. I also like the ambient song playing there and the way it looks like a giant-sized version of an ocean reef. Another thing that got me is that you have to go underground to get to the core. The deeper you go, the more intimidating and different are the creatures.

3. Bryyo Fire
Almost the same reason why I like the Cliffside area plus the puzzles and the battle against Rundas there. :)
