OMG.... I saw a mother brain plan in MP3 ?! it called ??? Shocked???"aurora"??? Shocked
here is a link.. http://mdb.classicgaming.gamespy.com/mp3/Aurora3.jpg
Maybe there will be aanother part of Metroid...  :P
Thread title:
It isn't Mother Brain... but it might as well have been. Aurora Units are explained in the MP3 Wii Channel.
ehhh... shame....
have you actually played the game? If so you should know what an aurora unit is...
There's Aurora Units in MP3?!?!  Shocked

Pfft... Yeah, right, and Samus is a girl...  Rolling Eyes
Ahh yes, I remember that teaser. Personally, I think it is a small easter egg/nod to Super.
What luck, there's french fry stuck in my beard.
I was actually really frustrated that they didn't explain the connection between Auroras and the Mother Brain.  Like... there should have been something, some reference somewhere, even if it was a random scannable Pirate terminal or something.
Sorry i doesn't played this game... :P but i've played all other metroid parts  :P

Samus is a girl ?!?! Shocked  laugh new grin new laugh new

Is this actually in the game? I mean - as a picture on a screen or something.

Sadly, no.  Just our luck, they'll put the MB/AU connection reference inside Metroid: Super Mission, the upcoming Wii remake of Super Metroid... (so needing a puking smiley right about now  ](*,) )

Disclaimer: if for some ridiculous reason Nintendo is actually planning a M:SM, I will not responsible for the emotional damages caused by such a creation.

Read moar Elysian logs.  It says that the Chozo (or at least their creations) suggested that the GF create the Auroras, and seeing as the Chozo were the ones who ran MB to begin with, it's pretty obvious that they're inspired by MB.

I know, I was just hoping for a stronger, more direct connection than just inspiration.

Meh, I don't see much more they could have said without it seeming forced.  And hell, what's more to know?  The Chozo have a successful management brain computer.  The GF needs management computers.  The Chozo suggest a brain computer.  The GF builds them.  End of story.
OH ****!!!!

I was thinking that the mother brain was a prototype, then the gf looks at all of this and decide to make organic super computers of their own.^_^
[ M a n a t e e ]
Well, sorta, but again, the Elysians/Chozo told them to, so they didn't just look at it and get inspired. >_>

Hell, they might not have even known about MB.

Bet that woulda made things interesting when the orders for Zero Mission came around...

Fact:
Chozo Technology > GF Technology
I dunno, the PED Suit > Varia Suit imho.

I can't seem to find this in any of the logs, unless you're referring to this:

Agreement:

The treaty brought us new supplies, fuel, and parts from the Federation. In
return, we allowed them to use Elysia Station as they saw fit. They were glad
to use the station's powerful scientific systems, and gleaned a great deal of
knowledge from our data banks. Unfortunately, the harsh atmosphere of our world
was dangerous for the Federation researchers. They proposed to replace the
humanoids with a single artificial intelligence unit, which they called Aurora.

The only way I can see the Aurora being Chozo technology is if they gleaned the information to make one from the Chozo data banks. However the scan doesn't outright state this and I find it odd that the Chozo wouldn't have installed one themselves.

Well, the Chozo never had a chance to develop a Phazon Enhancement Device... which is really just an enhancement to the Chozo technology in the first place.

Meh, I interpreted that as being a suggestion of the computers on the system (i.e. the aforementioned data banks).  I can see it going either way, and mine might be a bit of a stretch after all.

But either way, the Feds were working in a chozo facility alongside chozo robots, and MB was chozo made too, so it's pretty obvious where they got their inspiration either way.

Original Phazon Suit from Prime > All others. It just plain looked bad ass and it had a kick ass aura.

Pretty sure that the Aurora's are going to be a continuing part of the metroid universe. I think retro tried to make them look a lot like mother brain for a few reasons. I don't know if they(or nintendo) have an idea of how their next game is going to work out but I doubt that this was the last time we'll see them. Maybe the Aurora units will be like Phazon. We were simply introduced to them in Corruption. In a few more games we'll learn more about them and their origins, but for now they are just a mystery.

A little off topic but did they ever explain what happened with Orange Phazon? It was completely absent from Echoes and Corruption.
[ M a n a t e e ]
Bah, Phazon Suit.  Red and black are so overused.

Also, Orange Phazon was retconned to Red Phazon, which is never actually seen in Corruption, but is mentioned in the scans for Red Phazoids and the Pirate Commander.

Well, I believe the Aurora are based off of the Chozo's own Mother Brain, but their origins are hardly a mystery.  There's actually a video on the Metroid Prime 3 Channel on the Wii that explains the Aurora pretty thoroughly.  They were created by GF scientists "20 years" prior to the time the game takes place and are used by pretty much anyone who wants one... not so mysterious.

How are the Aurora like Phazon now?

Ah I never had the mp3 channel. I didn't buy my wii until corruption came out.
my umbrella goes directly to Bankai
you can still get that channel in the wii shop channel.

my guess is that auroras will show up in metroid 5. by then, the feds will have a big role again since they'll be hunting down samus and she will probably get caught by them to lose her suit and set up the beginning of the game (suit loss is so predictable. at least this time it will please fusion haters)

or they'll show up in the massive metroid 2 remake that will incorporate a lot of stuff now (lol i expected more from corruption story wise. now m2 remake is the only chance to see all the metroids with updated graphics)

note: all games are speculation by me.
