I'm still alive. I haven't exactly given up on the fusion run. I'm just taking an extended vacation I suppose. I still intend to finish it, just when I dunno.

See after the horror that was nightmare, I decided I deserved a little break. As I've mentioned before, while working on that run I am basically forgoing all other games. And my backlog was starting to pile up, so I took a break to catch up on some of my other games. And that's what I've been doing for a few months I suppose.

I got a ton of stuff done too, even got the 50 pikmin run down to 9 days (I have no idea why no one else did it, it was inches away from being accomplished for about a year apparently) and I'm currently working on a 22% hard run of metroid prime, which I haven't played since I did my 24% normal about, also a year ago I suppose. I've been meaning to do a 22 since it was discovered, but I've not gotten around to it.

I finally have now though, I just right now beat the chozo ghosts in the sunchamber. I fought flaahgra what must have been 30 times, successfully bomb jumped back up the suntower 7 times, and of those 7 times fighting the chozo ghosts I successfully didn't get my ass kicked once. But once was all I needed.

Nate tells me 22% has only ever even been done once and on normal, which means if I do it on hard I suppose I'll have the top spot in the high score thing forever. 22% is only much worse than 23% in a speed run if you ask me. Geo core and vent shaft and life grove may take a hundred tries, but you can like, watch things while trying it or listen to things, not at all like fighting OP or the wave troopers (particularly in hard) so if and when I do finish this run, I'm going to purposely run up the clock an insane amount so the top spot for hard low % speed will forever be an insanely slow time, and that is my spite to everyone who has to turn EVERYTHING into a speed run.

A low% run can't be a speed run, dagnabbit.

Anyway, I'm paused in monitor station about to try for this artifact without boost. I have no idea what I'm doing. And I'm going to get back to that now. And of course pikmin 2 and the new Pokémon are coming out next month, so all things considered, I'm not sure when I'll finish my fusion run. But my other games need love too after all.

I'm surprised you all haven't forgotten about it actually. And believe me when I say you're not missing out on anything. With my wall jumping taken away and sub-par bosses to look forward to, there's not much of anything showy left to do in the game if I had to guess. The good stuff in the run you already have. I'll still finish it, just... later.

Hey Sess, how are you gonna go about the secret message? It is a technical demonstration, after all. Will you Speed Boost or freeze the floaters? And are you just gonna not save that segment on your file or what? I just want to know about how long it takes. Then I'll be happy. I also wanna see you smash WD's time. Twisted Evil

Heh, I sensed a tad bit of fear in that. Somebody has to break 50 though, eventually. I'll download your 6% vid eventually though. Who else is runnin' this? I am right now, but it's really only a semi-prostyle run. I saved at 9 minutes in the beginning of TRO, so I'll see how that works out for me. Probably just under 1:30.

I think Sess will get 49, and there is a VERY SMALL chance that I'll 49 too(most likely 50 though). I'm very eager to see Sess's next segment, and good luck on your fusion run. Right now I'm saved at the savepiont right before giant plant, with 9(uber close to eight)so your not doing bad at all.

Well... you guys never know. Maybe WD is right. His run's really damn near perfect, and with less percentage (and thus some longer boss battles) it might not be possible to beat his time in a 1% run.

I may have said this before, but I regret not practicing before starting my run.

I may try another run soon anyway. Even though I won't have the GBP. Keep in mind that if I do, I'll be doing it for a record.

I haven't gotten his run, but I believe radix told me that his save after nightmare had the same timestamp as my save after nightmare does. Which means those extra percents didn't gain anything on the previous bosses that wasn't made up somewhere else I suppose. And SA-X and Ridley sure won't be affected by lack of missiles.

Remember though our runs can't be compared. Aside from the advantages I get by having savestates and a keyboard, I also sacrifice time for showiness where I feel it looks better to do so.

Hey Sess! Ignore my outbursts in the Prime board. I was a bit excited. Just dropping by to say that your run is amazing. After witnessing your Yakuza -> Nightmare segments after I've done serious speed running, I can say that your extended break was well deserved. Just remember to finish it will you ;). It's perfection at its best.
