water jumping without gravity suit as though i had it.

im sure this has probably already been discovered but i thought id ask anyways. I was jumping around in the water at the frigate crash site next to the missle expansion. As i moved forward in the sand area just below it the ground raises up, I jumped just as i reached the top of the incline and i jumped as though i had the gravity suit on even though i didnt have it. i then tried it again and noticed it did it again but only if i jumped as samus's body was move upward from the incline. also i had L locked. anyways i was able to get the missle expansion this way with the space boots. I know its not a useful sequence break but this would technically make this expansion the first missle possible.

ok so i just looked up all the techniques and i think this is just a ghetto jump. i thought they just worked outa water but i guess i was wrong. does anyone know if i at least discovered you can use it to get this expansion?

It's not the first possible expansion because you need a missile to get to FCS

Getting SJF, getting out of bounds in Tallon Overworld (for instance in Gully, Landing Site, Tallon Canyon, etc.) and grabbing the Missile Expansion in Landing Site would be the first Missile Expansion you can get. At least I think it's the "most early" expansion since it's not in Chozo Ruins but in the very first room you visit on Tallon IV. But in Main Plaza there're also 2 Missile Expansions that can be gotten with just SJF and nothing else. And of course the Missile Launcher. Maybe even more that can be gotten with just that 1% on your item percentage.

IIRC, you get more distance underwater without Gravity Suit, if you DO hold L for the whole single jump. Same goes for no Gravity + no SJB; just DON'T use the L-Jump technique underwater AS LONG AS you don't have Gravity Suit. I couldn't ever get that expansion in FCS with L-Jumping, but I consistently were able to jump from the tree to the expansion IF I hold L for the whole time during the jump. Weird. The same goes for Dashes underwater; just always R-Dash. Occassional dashing (without involving the R-button) give you almost no distance underwater as long as you don't have Gravity Suit. But R-Dashes give you quite an amout of distance. This is also the reason why it's even possible to get this esxpansion without Gravity Suit while NOT being in possession of Space Jump on top of that. You can get ontop of the tree with just one jump and then R-Dash off of something to get to the ledge and grab it.

Although Gravity Suit gives you heat protection (replacing Varia Suit) and Phazon Suit gives you heat protection as well (also replacing Varia Suit); Phazon Suit does NOT replace Gravity Suit, i.e. does NOT give you air condition underwater; Phazon Suit only gives you heat damage (and the occasional Phazon Suit + Beam effect, of course), but you need to get Gravity Suit in order to get air conditions underwater. Just so all guys reading my post get to know this; might be useful knowledge for Randomizer attempts; but I guess Baby Sheegoth at least already knew about this. Anyway.
