Well, there is a way to decrease the amount of time: Just keep jumping into the Metroid when it latches onto the Side Hopper, lowering the amount of time it needs to drain you of energy. (Since you would take damage obviously from the impact with the Metroid)
has anyone tried speedboosting through the room? maybe you would be able to escape? or are the doors Grey? i cant remember been awhile since i played it
Embarrasing Fact: Power suit made by lowest bidder
It can be done... but it won't save any time. You can take a long time to escape untouched, but you're moving at most about a block a second; it'll take at least 40 seconds (Counting from when the screen will start scrolling again) to make it to the door, which won't save any time and messing up (easy to do) will set you back even farther. You can take the quick way and escape in about 10 seconds at best, but you'll also trigger a glitch that will slow Samus' horizontal speed for the rest of the game and in the end spend *much* more time. Escaping the giant Metroid is more for show than anything else.
