i just posted the first (and hopefully last) batch of version differences in the fusion section. discuss.
Thread title:
I don't think that the easy mode changes are really necessary.

EDIT: Well, nevermind. When I first found out about them, I thought they were neat.
the question is, what does this mean for speed running, if anything. i'd be happy to send around my japanese copy of the game to a trusted runner if they'd like to have a stab at easy (or hard), the obvious advantage to easy being that many of the boss-weakening changes happen to also erase corresponding hated random elements in the game.

Lol, you ain't kidding... no boss door beams, no wasted giant plant jumps...

Looks like pretty soon the Fusion section will need that collapsing menu used on the Prime section... it's getting pretty big. There's more important matter for now, however.
i like how he says "a" more important matter. like there's only one or something.

Sweet!  Always good to see new stuff on m2k2.  The version differences are cool, though personally I would have grouped all the "50% HP on Easy" bosses onto one page -- it was a bit disappointing whenever I clicked on a boss and that was the only difference listed.  You could call that page "half-life bosses," causing widespread confusion and eventually rioting in the streets.  Just sit back and watch the looting begin.  (I call Microplay!)
i thought about doing that, but it's just so tacky, videos all the way down the page and you're like 'okay wtf is this?'. i think the stupid sa-x series was enough to tackify the entire site. bleh.

Shhh... that's a typo, of course. Stop ruining my street cred.

1% hard mode single segment plz!

>__>
How much harder is hard mode than American mode?
i don't think 1% in hard would really be much harder. the only thing would be the three less missiles after you pick up the missile tank in pyr, so however far back that puts you against the late game bosses, i guess.
Translates to "harder" Nettori and harder Nightmare. Whee!
Missiles kinda suck in the game :?.
kinda? :P

It's also just about the funniest thing I've seen on any Metroid site, so don't knock it. :)

I wish I was a trusted runner. Meh, I just can't record.... That'll change soon.
Meh...3 less missiles? Whoop-dee-friggin-doo...only bosses that would have any effect on would be Nettori, Nightmare, BOX-X...and it wouldn't necessarily make them any harder...just longer  :?
X-BOX only takes 12 Missiles, so just Nettori and Nightmare ;). And I guess Ridley if you're being stupid...
I would love to check this version out, and maybe try my hand at a run. I'm not :50 good though, but ehh.
note that kridly has claimed my jp copy of fusion for now (which makes sense, since he has the wt gbp atm). i'll be sending it to him tomorrow morning. here's to seeing some great fusion runs liberated of most of the most annoying random elements in the game.

Lol, is your Japanese copy of MF gonna be passed around the world?
I should've asked you to buy a second copy for me :(. Oh well, I'll have someone else try ordering it from play asia or lik-sang or something (since I don't have a credit card or anyway to pay them)..
I told him to pick me up games back in May?  But I found my Fusion cart it was in my BoFIII case somehow.
Oh, umm... What about normal enemies? Are they placed the same, and are they the same strength?

The reason I'm asking are the worm-things that you meet in sector 2 in the beggining. They sometimes don't die fast enough, and I end up dead.
yes, the enemies are placed identically in all difficulty settings. also, as far as i was able to tell, they take the same amount of damage to die in all difficulty settings.

as for people who wanted me to buy them things ... i am not an import service. for people living in the united states, importing games is as easy as going to lik-sang.com. for europeans the situation is a little different, because shipping there is much more difficult, and apparently most businesses just won't do it. i am only one person (believe it or not) and as such i need to concentrate on areas where my help is most needed. i hope that you will understand.
