Holy sh*t, since finding those PB's, I've gotten 4 more PB tanks and they all required PB to get in the first place. Wherever the 'first' PB tank I was supposed to get was, I have no idea.

I ended up doing a suitless partial maridia run, coming out of maridia near the noob tube. I cleaned up most of brinstar (got ice) and reminded myself why you never shinespark in lava. Now I have to decide whether or not to hit maridia main street suitless or take my PBs down to norfair. I think I'll try norfair.

I didnt get far in norfair, so headed up to maridia main street. ...

I couldn't head upwards in main street, so i went up the long pipe towards where plasma is in the original ROM. Made no progress there either. I'm currently over by where springball normally is and im trying to do the glitch where u can jump through the ceiling by standing on the frozen thing but having no luck. Am I on the right track? Last major upgrade was ice.

Don't try to progress through Maridia until you have the wave beam. Next place you need to go to is Lower Norfair, and you need at least:

6 Energy Tanks
1 Reserve Tank
Super Missiles
Power Bombs
Ice Beam
Grapple Beam
Speed Booster
Varia Suit
Hi-Jump Boots
Space Jump

The key items are needed because you can't get all the E-Tanks you need for LN without them.

Yes but i cant space jump through the acid because i dont have gravity suit. did u forget to add gravity to the list, or is there a different way to navigate through the acid that im too retarded to realize?

3:17, 56%. I mainly got stuck looking for speed booster and wave beam. Go figure that wave is in just about the last possible place that I looked. I liked the first half of this hack, item order was different, rooms were a little different, paths changed, but right around draygon everything just seemed like SM again. Overall this is a nice distraction, the board has been somewhat dry lately and it was nice to play something.

Or you could just do wall jump. You can wall jump in lava or acid but not water.

But you can still wall jump, just not on spikes. First, you stand on the creature that located on the left. Next, you jump to the right, there should be the wall without spike. Last, you wall jump from right to left again and reach the surface.

I have the wave beam. So far I cant get anywhere in maridia except from wrecked ship all the way down to noob tube and back again, but i cant go up in main street. Havent tried getting in through red brinstar shaft yet... I was under the impression that I had to do LN first, so im relieved that thats not true.

Also, I tried wall jumping in the acid by jumping off of the creature and I dont even get close. the jump isnt high enough plus i run out of energy.

huh. I've made it through the wrecked ship, but strangely I don't have Ice Beam. Also, I'm not sure which PB expansion is the intended one. I got the one at the top of Red Brinstar shaft, but again, it looked like that was supposed to require Ice Beam, which I don't have.

petrie911: You were supposed to go through WS without the ice beam. For the record,

the ice beam is located next to the Brinstar mockball room. You'll need the Speed Booster.

Completed this hack just a little while ago

Nice little hack to play through. Did have some surprises like suddenly entering a room once peaceful enough only to find out there's lava in it now :P.
