Fear Me! (Or else...)
I've just been thinking about this, though I do not have any clue how to do this myself. I am starting to learn C++ this year, so I'll get onto this as soon as possible, although it'd be nice if somebody got it started before. I'm just thinking, wouldn't it be nice if you had a second Samus to help you out with the game. It'd be really cool. Another idea to use in this is, when one person gets an item, it's added to both Samus' arsenals. I know this is just a hack idea, and not an actual hack in progress, but once I actually start getting a grasp of C++, I'm going to start working on it myself. Anybody interested in this idea?
Thread title:
. . .
If you made a game in C++, then it wouldn't be a hack...  It would be a fangame.

Not to mention how much work you would have to do by yourself to transfer all of what is Super Metroid from Assembly to C++, THEN add in all the new stuff you want to do.  Not something you would want to do with out a team of well trained professionals.

I'm not tring to be rude, only realistic.
I'm wondering how hard C++ is compared to SMILE.  laugh new
YAY TEXT
It seems more realistic to learn how to hack Super Metroid and implant the feature in the correct language which you would have to learn first. But this would take an insane ammount of ASM hacking and I dont know if even the likes of Kejardon and Jathys could pull it off. So still not realistic.

Hated by all
To make a rawly made fan-game from scratch (no use of Game Maker or Multimedia Fusion, and that reminds me so much of River City Ransom, with two protagonists that have the same looks), that doesn't seem real. I'm sorry.  :-?

Pretty much, this should've been in the ideas and concepts thread.

This is a great discussion for the "General Metroid" forum or maaaaybe the "Super Metroid" forum. Please use this forum for hack content discussion, not "X fangame idea would be cool" discussion.

For the record it would almost definitely be easier to code an entirely new game than it would be to write in the [b][u]massive massive massive amount of work you'd have to do to complete rearrange and recode just about everything in Super Metroid. It's a cool idea but I'll bet my lunch it will never ever happen. And I really like my lunch.
