Breathe in the Future, Breathe out the Past
I don't know who did this hack, found it on the list and gave it a go.

I love the design, though it may seem rushed in spots this is truely something. Lots of original ideas and that's something I look for in hacks.

A major downside would have to be areas where you need a sm or more and you're in a pickle to find enemies to give you them. Lol, pickle. That should be the name of a hack by cardweaver.

I'm looking for the speed booster right now, any help?
Edit: found it. That was quick...

I've got 65m, 15sm, grapple, varia, charge, springball/morph/bomb, and hi-jump.

This is a nasty hack  :D

Edit: Bloody hell. I just did the majority of maridia without gravity, beat dragoon and now I can't leave the room before him. Was I making it hard on myself this whole time? I did manage to get there by bounce jumping off one of those round squids, I thought that was necessary.. After all these bloody hours..
Thread title:
Yeah, you're supposed to get Gravity before you tackle Draygon.  I'm currently replaying the hack myself.

As for Gravity's location, I believe you were supposed to go up after breaking the glass tube to gain entrance to Maridia, then go right as soon as you can and keep heading that way until you hit a dead end.  The Gravity Suit oughta be in that room.

Also, make sure to have the Ice Beam as you need to freeze an enemy in order to make a jump into a morphball tunnel.

Finally...I did the exact same thing on my first playthrough too.  Getting through that acid room before Draygon was enough work...only to find out I couldn't escape after beating Draygon :P.

Final Thoughts:
Although this hack is laden with bugs and glitches, it was lots of fun.
It's one of those hacks where getting a new item is actually exciting and well paced.
The first 3/4 of the game had this pacing.

I wonder what the max % is for items cause I'm sure it's not 100, lots of old areas were boarded off and still intact as far as I could tell. Congs to whoever made this.
I don't know how you guys got through it but I’m stuck.
And it looks like I need another super missile set for the wrecked ship.

I didn't even realize that said 23. I'm cursed by that number, shit you not.
I just started playing this hack, and I can't find the Super Missiles.
Metroid Exp: Exploration - Great, Skills - Decent
The hack is, sadly enough, very linear. I have a map of the hack that says where said item sets are, but some of it is off by a room or two. Whatever you do, always pack a couple extra saves, especially when trying to get Varia.

Can someone post the ips patch for this I can't find it.
I actually found this hack on a livejournal page years ago and added it to the 1.0 list. Didn't think it would get popular O__o

I'm LPing this one next. I haven't played it in a long time.

EDIT: Found it!

Spent a good while searching for a different version of super Metroid online, since I saw some other games were hacked to increase difficulty and change the experience. I found little to nothing, and zilch as far as 'full game' changes go, so I have been spending the last three weeks editing a 'Super Metroid' rom. Thought some here might enjoy playing a different version of the game.

Difficulty
In a few cases you will be required to wall-jump. Probably nowhere that will have your life on the line, but you will still need to. I seriously hope you can o_o The flow of difficulty is a bit erratic. I tried to make many of the energy tanks in slightly obvious places and didn't make them all to hard to get. Nothing is impossible either. If you are in an area what just seems way to hard to beat, YOU are doing something wrong, or you might be missing something. This is assuming it's seemingly impossible, if it's just really hard then you're probably in the right place at the right time. Ironically, there might be a few places that are easier then they were in the original game. This is because difficulty was never my actual goal.
There are a few places where you might actually get stuck and unable to move-which means resetting the game. These places are few and in-between, and usually your own fault (like between power missile blocks respawning). Trying to spoil as little as possible: don't expect a different fight with mother brain either. Her HP and arena were the only ones that were uneditable, figures XD I am sure everything else will give you more then enough fight though. By the time you get to her she should seem like a joke, but a relaxing fight will be a nice reward for your hard work. Umm... I hope you have a controller hooked up to your PC as well XD

Known Issues:
Not entirely happy with the way some areas came out. Because the rom size could not be changed certain rooms had to stay the same, and some couldn't be edited very much given that each and every one came with a preset size limitation. But it's ok, it's different enough. I played through it again just to be sure. Found only a few minor glitches, mostly consisting of a few E tanks disappearing before you reached that area!? Put a big band-aid on the holes, hoping to god fixing them didn't cause other errors. Originally there was only 13 energy tanks, now there is 12. You see what I mean. I could only do so much. But I did play through the game, so the key items were there. A few of them could be acquired and reacquired when you go back into the room (like the gravity suit). This serves no purpose and you can do it as many times as you like, but be prepared for glitches to follow you in your playtime later if you piss the rom off XD I suggest not toying with it. Be aware that the editor I used to hack this game was, in itself, only 20% finished and buggy as hell. You'll find problems, no doubt. Nothing that should effect progress, though.
