MP2 also a bit MP1 speedrunning
I will probably not work very much on speedrunning in the next few weeks now. I'm actually havily working on learning japanese, 'cause i can. But learning that is just rediculous so yeah... Not gonna have much time :/ (that's also a reason why i didn't do much lately; Well at least in therms of running echoes)
Anyways; once im done with this insane maze-like grammar, multiple language stuff and thoausands of symbols instead of just using normal letters and wth all is going on in japanese, i'd hope to be more relaxed after getting deeper into it. (a.k.a after learning Katakana & Hirugana and basic Kanji)
I'll move on to grammar and advanced Kanji - meaning during this phase i'll do more metroid prime 2 i guess. (hopefully)
Well, also i will have to actually understand and be able speak it at some point; So i'll start up doing that after finishing being able to
actually read Katakana & Hirugana. (short explenatory; Kanji Symbols are replacing words and by using Katakana/Hirugana you are basically putting syllables together, to form all kind of words, just like you do in german and english, except you use Symbols, if you don't use Symbols it's called Romaji)
I'll have to learn Katakana anyways, because as far as i know, it's practically impossible to write everything in Kanji, even for a native japanese speaker. No-one knows the very rare Kanji symbols and so you have to like build your own words with Katatana/Hirugana, to build/write a full sentence sometimes as far as i know. (obviously depends on how many Kanji's you've learned though) So yeah, learning Katakana is necessary. and also way less work than learning Kanji lol
Being able to read something like this ワタシ ハ メトロイドプライム 2 デ スウ would be cool, even though i would not be able to tell what the hell i'm reading, a japanese guy would theoretically be able to understand what i read. i think learning Kanji after knowing this would make it a lot easier; and once i learned Kanji i'd be able to actually understand it. I'd even be able to build my own words, if i don't know the Kanji symbols.
well, afterwards learning ALL the grammar stuff and there you go.... (also some of the spelling on japanese internet sides, signs on japanese streets and wth not are also containing Katakana Symbols, so...)
No clue how long it takes, i mean learning a new language is difficult (especially if you do it all on your own just using the internet) but, man i think that learning japanese is incredibly easy a.k.a even a thousand times harder than english. So we'll see how this goes i guess?...
Also, speaking it is one thing, but writing it is even way way worse, you have to know over 2000 symbols to be able to successfully understand most of it. some of them are including over 30 lines.

this shows just an average one, which probably looks difficult to write, but actually is even way more annoyingly difficult than it seems to be..
i mean, man you have to write/draw really precisely and you actually have to remember every single line, from where to where you write it and even in what order you write the lines for every single symbol.
Theres even more stupid things you'll have to worry about, for example if you write competely in Katanaka theres actually words that sound the exact same, only with Kanji you can explain what the hell you're actually talking about. i mean かみ can either mean "Paper", "God" or "Hair" and in Kanji theres three different symbols for each word. (God = 神, Paper = 紙, Hair = 髪)
A major reason to learn Katakana also comes up here, because you will very very likely need it, in case you're missing a Kanji Symbol.
Missing a Kanji symbol and having the same meaning for Katakana at the same word ins insanely rare, when you do speak japanese well or rather "okay". I'll also have to learn Hirugana somewhen, but its not that important, and as far as i know not that difficult to learn, so i'll just go ahead and do that later.
I hope this explains, why i just stopped playing/streaming without saying anything, even though i wanted to improve my time.
But i guess i'll get there once i spent a lot of time into it, let's hope it works similar like speedrunning, where at the beginning when you learn a game you're like "omg i'll never be able to do this" and afterwards you're like, hm oh well wasn't even that bad, after you spent a couple weeks or even months on it..
Anyways; Not gonna do attempts anytime soon, so you know. But, i guess i can still participate on the races.
Hopefully you liked this small explanation about how japanese basically works lol... Didn't actually plan to do this and its not really topic related but oh, well it's interisting to read i guess...
And btw if you're interisted in learning japanese... - have fun!...
I took Japanese for a couple years in high school, and I picked it up again last semester, so if you ever need any help let me know.

thats awesome, thanks, i might contact you some time. :)
I'd been really inconsistent at GA lately, so decided to do a grapple route run. I barely remember the route, and everything went horribly.

It was a PB, though...

man I love tying mp3 segmented runs.

I'm not sure if this place is dead or not but whatever.
First real run. View it here:

The place isn't that dead although the Prime 1 forums have been getting much more activity lately. Nice time though.
Nice! Just finishing a run is pretty difficult! Good luck with the improvements!
