Not impossible
just highly unlikely
It's come to my attention that a massive number of topics are getting derailed. It seems that this board can't go past page 2 without veering off course. Now, I don't really mind a conversation taking a turn somewhere else, and I really don't want to prevent that from happening over the natural course of things, but it's happening in damn near EVERY topic, and sometimes it even appears intentional.
PLEASE work with me on this people. The very last thing I want to do is hand out warnings or delete posts for being off topic. I'm not saying I want you to stay 100% on topic, because I know you can't talk about one single thing forever, and often someone will say something to ignite a slightly different subject that gives a bit of new life into a topic. But this is getting pretty freaking rediculous. I'm usually not reading the entirity of threads, and often by the time I get to one whatever people are saying has absolutely nothing to do with the subject line, and when I go back, the topic has been changed 3 or 4 times. If someone says something that makes you want to talk about something unrelated to the current topic, then maybe it's worth making a new thread over. I'm definately not going to complain about new threads if they're inteligent and worthwhile. If it's not something you want to make a new topic about, then try to make an effort to steer the conversation back after you've made your side comment (ie, "Getting back to the topic at hand...").
In the Boardwalk it's not such a big deal (although I would still appreciate some care there), but in other places, the Metroid threads especially, it's something to watch out for more.
This is the last thing in the world I want to enforce, so I'm asking you all kindly to help me out. I do NOT want to turn our mods into the off-topic police, I do NOT want to delete anything or ban anyone for being off topic. But I also do NOT want to see every new thread created evaporate into nonsense within a page. So let's all try to work on this, please.
