I guess you could dissect any screenshot like this, but this one caught my eye and here a few things that I have noticed:
1) [Missiles] 3/0: This really caught my eye.  How can you have 3 out of zero missiles?  Or maybe the two numbers represent normal AND super missiles?
2) Missile charge meter?:  I have no idea what this is, but if you ask me, it looks like a missile charge meter.  It could be like the Diffusion Missile in Fusion, however, it would appear that you would get the missile charge early on in the game, as indicated by the
3) Energy Tanks: there are only 2 of them.
4) 101, or (0):  I'm not sure which it is, but I have no idea what it means.

So, is there anything else you notice from the picture?
Thread title:
It looks like the Energy Tanks bar could be extended whenever you get more.  3/0 missiles is probably just a testing thing that won't happen in the normal game.  The orange thing in the middle looks like a targeting reticule, but the green one is more likely.  The missile meter looks like it could have some relation to the Energy bar because they're at about the same length and... fullness, because I can't think of a better word.

What?

I'm inclined to believe it's Missile/Super

In the video we clearly see the "Missile Charge Bar" used as a Charge attack that just blasts the enemy, so maybe like a Prime Super Missile?

Perhaps the "0" represents how many clips you have left. EG: each "clip" of missiles contains five. you can fire those five as fast as you want, but then you have to reload.

It's just part of the crosshair.

Perhaps the meter is a cooldown timer, so that you can't spam missiles.  Or at leastfor a charged upmissile, or whatever they choose to have.

And the '101' thing isnot 1's.  If you look closely, they're curved lines, and, as Envy said, are no doubt just part of the target.  I say 'target' because it looks to me like it's done in an on-rails shooter style.  Is that its weak point? (With the green one being her crosshair) Does Samus have a visor equipped that shows her?
IIRC, this split-second clip from the trailer appears to feature something akin to the seeker missiles from Prime 3. Maybe the red crosshair is a lock-on.

The hell? Could've sworn that was in the trailer. Must be going crazy after watching the trailer like twice this weekend.

Aren't there two trailers?
Not according to Wikitroid

Must be going mad.  I was sure I saw one from this month.  Maybe it was just a reposting of the old trailer.Confused

You and me both, it would seem.
Last I knew it was just the E3 trailer from last year. If there was another one, somebody on this site would've found it by now.

But I do remember seeing that image around the time of the trailer's release as well, so unless Nintendo gave out some screenshots at that time I couldn't say where this came from.
ok from looking a screenshots i made another observation.  There are 3 pictures of Ridley: 2 where Samus has no energy tanks and one where she has a capacity of four.  This indicates that most likely you will fight Ridley more than once.
In testing, the devs can set whatever stats they want.

i love it when people look at trailers/screenshots from development and think what they're seeing is the release version.
Not impossible
just highly unlikely

This.

Have you seen the early screens of Metroid Prime? They were in 3rd person, for fuck's sake. Nothing in this image is worth comment or speculation because nothing in this image will, as far as we know, be representative of the final product.

Why is Samus' visor glowing blue around the edges when her visor is actually green? It's also like that in every other prime isn't it?

Wouldn't it be really fun to play with the whole game through a green filter? It adds REALISM!

Brown is the color of realism, green is Daikatana.
Super Secret Area - Dead Ahead!
Quake's the worst: 1 = brown, 2 = green / grey, 3 = red / brown, 4 = red / shiny.
