I had to shift my xyba from asdf to sdfg and my lurd from lurd to lp'; for just that reason. Pretty much every keyboard I've used requires different configurations. I'm thinking sections of the keyboard are hooked up to different grids, and only so many keys from one grid are accepted.
Sorry, but you have to kind of guess and test if you don't have the technical background to open up your keyboard and analyze it. I had to guess and test, at least.
