Well, it's actually called Boost Ball Aiming, but yes, you can turn it on in the options menu. When you're charging a Boost, it places a crosshair on the screen that you can move around to aim your Boost.
One thing I only just noticed was all your visors work in your ship. You can use the scan visor on all of the components inside (though this doesn't add anything to the logbook). You can also get a nice look at the bones in Samus' legs and feet with the xray visor.
Speaking of that, when using the xray visor, did anyone notice how close samus' fingers are to the aperature of the arm cannon (i.e. where it shoots from)? Missiles have to magically appear, since t here's no way there could be a loading mechanism for them inside with Samus' hand in the way. (Though it is cool that you can see her hand in there and see her pulling a trigger to fire the arm cannon).
Does the communication console on the ceiling of the ship serve any purpose other than at the very beginning of the game?
Final thing for now: I noticed only recently (during the PH seed boss battle) that the door leading in/out of the boss chambers do not lock during the fight. Is there any way to get back up there?

Pressing the buttons in certain sequences allows you to get hidden messages (all in Japanese, though). Enter Samus's identity code (second, seventh, fifth, first) to get a message from Iwata. Also:
-third, sixth, fourth, eighth for a message from Yamamoto -eighth, third, fifth, fourth for a message from Miyamoto

In the Ridley fight, you can get him to knock you up to the ledge and exit, but can't get very far once you're out. There's a vid on Youtube but I can't find it again. :/
RE cockpit, yes it's pretty cool.
As for missiles, I've always subscribed to the theory that here's an energy-based production system within the suit (and even that the shoulder pads have a cooling system hence the need for the shoulder pad kitted Varia as opposed to the shoulderless Powersuit in Magmoor and that it the suit itself also feeds her sustenance and even caters to her toilet requirements - the wife and I had a long discussion about this! ^_^ ). The beams need energy anyway, and she refuels in her ship and at ammo stations pretty damn quick.
They do hint at this in Echoes' logbook and explain moreso (although not precisely) in the Corruption logbook.

Hello, this is Iwata from Nintendo. A president has to take things really seriously, even if it doesn't seem like it. It's understandable if you lose weight from stress...but I get fatter instead. Nobody thinks I'm taking it seriously.
Miyamoto:
Ah, can you hear me? This is Miyamoto. All of you playing Metroid, can you hear me? It's fun, isn't it? I've also worked on many [Metroid] games, but this one is the best yet, don't you think? Definitely play it all the way to the end. See you!
Samus's face changes along with her suit as she gets more corrupted. I saw her reflection in the scan visor and saw a large tentacle looking thing on her face.

There are 5 actually... The only other one I remember is: 1385
@ above post: If you mean the feature underneath the platform then yeah I agree. If not then what? Another thing... In the movie, showing dark samus breaking out of the container at the intro, the room it's located in is the same room as where you get the X-ray visor.
I read something somewhere today that the 3D model viewer that was part of the Echoes logbook is in Corruption: There's supposedly some sort of cube in one of the corners that you click on to go into that mode...
And I've played the game and gone into the logbook HOW many times and haven't noticed this myself?

Oh wow, I never noticed that either. Though, I did only play through Echoze once.

Yeah it's awesome because it has the concept art like prime AND the models like in echoes.
Really? That IS awesome. I'll have to check it out the next time I play. Is the concept art for each item different than the ones you can buy in the bonus material section?

I just mean the little yellow models on the side of the scan. Those are like the ones from prime.
