so I was laying in my bed texting a friend last night and somehow the subject of ponies were brought up, and I mentioned how it really wasn't that surprising that 4chan got into the ponies. She was confused and asked why, and I said something like this: 4chan has always loved cute and adorable animals. Sure they sometimes do silly/"malicious" things like trolling oprah into talking about 9,000 penises, or spreading racist humor on websites, and things like that, but when it comes to cute animals, they suddenly turn nice. Like that time that the kid posted some videos on youtube of him "torturing" a cat, and they were able to find all his info and report him to the police, and the cat was taken away. Or the time that that chick threw puppies into a river and they got all of her info too. So it's not totally weird that a show about adorable ponies would get so big with so much of that community. Of course this is just a guess, but whatever.

Fluttershy is adorable and cute and totally loveable, but not the best. It's pretty hard to say who is the best since each of them seems to have something that makes them awesome in some way, but some certainly have more awesome things than others.

Nah it's p easy to say who's the best, just ask yourself, "Is this pony Pinkie Pie?" If No then you have found the best.

But seriously, Pinkie is just the sort of character I just naturally dislike, on no show is the "random, comic relief" type character appealing to me. I will admit to enjoying her Pepe Le Pew bits though.

Pinkie's relentless chase of Dash in the beginning of Griffon the Brush-Off is still probably my single favourite moment from the entire season.

And her doing it again in Party Of One is probably the most terrifying moment from the entire season. In Griffon the Brush-Off she was channeling Pepe Le Pew, in Party Of One it was more like Jason Voorhes.

Fluttershy's cute, but I'm not sure if I like her more than Applejack now. (oh, Applejack, how you have fallen)

I mean, of course, Applejack is cool. I like all of the main cast, but I can't help making a personal internal ranking of them, and Applejack was once my second favourite. Now she may or may not have fallen to fourth.

Most of the time I don't really like or dislike pinkie. Her random comic relief moments are usually balanced in that they aren't trying to force it TOO hard, but it's still enough to make the children of the show laugh. She was especially awesome in the episode where fluttershy becomes a model with the "FOREVERRRRRR" parts. The eating of the apple and whatnot was done well.

The Party of One bit with her was totally fantastic. That is certainly the first episode I'd show anyone, with the diamond dogs episode following that one. And then applebuck season.

I like Dash because she seems like really the only one out of the bunch that would be fun to just hang out with to have fun. Her facial emotes tend to be some of the best as well. She was also the first character I liked so I'm probably slightly biased.

AJ is pretty awesome, but she's very similar to Dash so it's hard to say much about her that's unique. She seems more calm and sensible than Dash though, so that's a plus at least.

Rarity certainly has a unique character, but I think tbob already did a good job explaining her and why she's awesome so yeah. She's probably my favorite, but that might just be because she's still the only figure I own with the brushable hair so I end up looking at her more than the others.

Fluttershy is cute and loveable and I can't think of any time she's said something that hasn't been great which I can't say for any other character. Of course with that being said, she rarely talks, and not just because she's shy, but she just doesn't seem to really do much other than be cute and adorable.

Twilight is kinda hard to judge because she's supposed to be the main character so she's forced into every episode. This isn't the writers fault though since the big-guys in charge said that every episode has to end with one of those "Dear Celestia Today I learned blah blah blah friendship". So half the time she shows up it just kinda feels like she shouldn't really have been there. If I remember correctly that episode where Rarity and AJ spend the night at Twilight's house was originally supposed to have been at Pinkie's house. When she ISNT being forced into the show though, she's certainly in my top three. Probably one of the best moments is in the episode where her horn gets all floppy, great stuff.

Her role has seemed to diminish over the course of the season, she seems to be trading places with Twilight, heading more toward 'normal' while Twilight leans more toward the crazy end of the scale. Hopefully AJ will have more to do next season.
