One shall stand, one shall ball.
Heh, Pinkie is actually my least favorite, not that I dislike her or anything, but her wacky comic relief role seems just slightly redundant in a show that already has plenty of goofy. She works best in little bursts for me. Probably the only character there can be too much of in an episode.

Gotta pick Rarity as my least favourite, really. She has yet to really click for me. Rainbow Dash > Applejack/Pinkie Pie > Fluttershy > Twilight Sparkle > Rarity.

...I'm not a unicorn fan, apparently.

Well Twilight's job is to play straight pony to everyone else's quirkiness, characters like that can come of as boring simply because they mostly draw attention to the fact that they just aren't as crazy as every other character. She has her moments, but if she wasn't 'the boring normal one' none of the others would be half as entertaining.

Rarity probably does the least of any of the characters, so I figure she's toward the bottom of most people's lists, but I just find it really funny when she breaks character for some reason. The dress making episode is among my favorites just because it is an entire episode of Rarity losing her shit.

Clearly the writers are the ones who aren't unicorn fans.

Pinkie Pie is my little sister's favorite by far, but that's understandable since she's 6 years old and her favorite color is pink to begin with. The dress making episode really made me like Rarity more, since she does all this work for them all for nothing in return (in the song the ponies say that the dresses have to "stay within our budget" so maybe she did get paid in the end... or maybe it was just a line so they could rhyme it with "fudge it").

Rainbow dash + Applejack are my favorites though for sure, with fluttershy and twilight being very close. 90% of the time fluttershy says something, it seems hilarious. I mostly like Twilight because she seems to act the most normal most of the time, and she's adorable, and I like her voice and facial expressions.

May 6th will also be when the final episode of this season airs for anyone who doesn't already know. It seems Season 2 will start sometime in October, and Luna won't be appearing until Season 2.

Like half of Fluttershy's lines would sound sarcastic if it wasn't for the fact that it's Fluttershy, it's fantastic. Her "cheering" bit with Rainbow in Sonic Rainboom was the best.

Either way it was pretty nice of her not to tell them all that their ideas were stupid and they should feel stupid for even considering it! :v

That song's been stuck in my head since I first saw the episode, it's somehow catchier than Winter Wrap Up.

winter wrap up was the only song that I liked the first time I heard it. Pinkie pie's song, the art of the dress, and the others annoyed me at first, but after listening to them a few times they really really grew on me. I have a bunch of remixes and 8bit versions of the songs and stuff, I love it.

qft. It's also sparked a good amount of some funny fan stuff. The guy who made the comic makes a LOT of comics, and they're usually pretty good. He goes by CSImadmax on deviantart iirc.

Oh yeah, this might be a good place to post this since not too many people come in here... my tattoo post int he soccial topic was jsut an april fools joke <__< I wouldn't get a pony tattooed on my arm (and I'm not that fat anyway). The most I'd get is dash's cutie mark, but even then I highly doubt it lol, so yeah, that post was just a joke.

anyway heres some stuff since idk how much the rest of yall look for fanart and things like that.

One shall stand, one shall ball.
Oh god the dark horror rapeface Fluttershy is amazing.

Dark side of the Rainbowdash is pretty good too.

I figured, but I wasn't going to comment and possibly ruin it. But then no one commented and welp.

I find that Pinkie's songs are still kind of annoying, but I think they're supposed to be so I guess that's ok!

I guess with Art of the Dress I mostly just liked the way it flipped over on itself at first. The first half is all yay fun and then after a short break switches to uuuuggghh which I like. Contrast is fun!

And speaking of remixes of the songs this one's kind of amusing.

I'm glad someone finally got around to make a gif of them doing that next to each other.

Super Ponybeat is also a pretty cool guy, his music is pretty good.

oh yeah I guess I should mention, if anyone wants anything specific (really artsy-style mlp pics, comics, gifs, screencaps with text, etc) just let me know and I'll post whatever I find digging through my folder. I have a pretty good amount of pictures

Also this is worth mentioning. Heres a quote from ponychan:

"How about this, since there are six ponies in the main cast the holidays should be on the 6th of whatever month they're in.
And since there are twelve months and six elements there should be a holiday every other month.
So...
The holiday of Honesty - February 6th
The holiday of Kindness - April 6th.
The holiday of Laughter - June 6th
The holiday of Generosity - August 6th
The holiday of Loyalty - October 6th
The holiday of Magic - December 6th"

Here's the facebook event for the upcoming holiday. Seems like it could be fun and stuff.

(fun note: if you look hard enough in the "attending" list you'll be able to find me (note: my name isn't "Envy Adams"))

Apparently at least two Rainbow Dashes are attending on top of the limitless number of people pretending to be.

it most certainly is not. Have you tried watching any yet? At least watch episode 4 and then check back in with us.

According to my stoner friend, getting baked and watching mlp "makes friendship TRULY magic" or something like that. I'd be interested to know if he's right or not lol

bob and Poision, sure. But I didn't quite expect DJ to get into this.

Also, for people planning on starting to watch it... don't listen to people saying "start with episode 4". The two-parter pilot is amazing, and gives you a lot of characterization I feel you'd otherwise miss out on. Especially concerning Twilight Sparkle herself - without the pilot, it seems like she'd just come off as someone desperately trying to fit in for pretty vague reasons. The pilot was very much instrumental in my enjoyment of the show.

Nothing wrong with episode 3, either.
Club 27 Goals
I just figured 4 is good for showing people what kind of humor and animation/character expression they'll find in the show, since the first two episodes aren't really similar to what the rest of the show is like. Watching 4 and then watching 1-3 is good, and watching 1-4 is just as fine. I just didn't want people to watch the first two and then think the rest of the show is going to be like that, since it isn't really. It has good character development and whatnot for sure, and skipping those episodes entirely will make people miss out on some things so regardless of what episode a person starts watching at the first two should be watched soon after that.

I drugged him up and got him into it by forcing artwork down his throat. It seems to have paid off in the end though.

Oh and apparently these are only available in canada currently. If any of you guys are in canada and happen to see these at a store I'd be very willing and grateful to buy them through you and pay for shipping and whatever else as long as it's reasonably priced.

Not that the rest of the show being like the first two episodes would necessarily be a bad thing...

In fact, that's what Faust wanted to do, have a more overarcing storyline, but they wanted the episodes to be viewable in any order.

Still, definitely the pilot first.
Club 27 Goals
yeah I'm really excited to see how they handle the second season now. From what I can tell, and according to what everyone is saying, they originally didn't have a second season planned, but since the show was such a hit they called up the voice actors and told them to come back in April for recording the second season. It'd be really interesting to see how much this whole thing affects the new episodes.

I'm not sure how I would feel if they decided to have the second season follow a storyline. On one hand it would be awesome because it would be more like an anime if it follows a story, and watching them in order would be important. but on the other hand, I know some really enjoy the fact that each episode is its own story thing and it makes the show special being able to have one episode focus entirely on one character (eg applebuck season, art of the dress, etc). Either way I'll probably end up falling in love with it anyway
One shall stand, one shall ball.
An extended plot arc doesn't exclude more self contained episodes, it depends a bit on how many episodes they have to work with, but you can space out the plot related episodes a bit to give room for the more typical episode and it's possible to advance the plot somewhat during what is otherwise a stand alone episode if you know what you're doing. Beast Wars was kinda like that.

As long as it stays fun and animates well I don't really much care what they do with it though.

Also I don't think I've used episode enough in this post so episode.

yeah this is pretty much how I feel about it too, only they better keep the personalities and stuff of the current case the same, and they better not try to introduce a whole new cast of main characters.
