Looks like Lauren won't be as involved with Season 2 anymore. She's stepping down from executive producer to something else lower, but at least she'll still be part of the team. Hopefully whoever replaces her will be as good, but I'm kinda scared ;_;
One shall stand, one shall ball.
Sounds like she's just letting go of a lot of the artistic aspects and sticking more to scrips and and story concepts, apparently it's the kind of stuff she did on Power Puff Girls, so it'll probably be ok. They still have a lot of good people working on the show, I don't think Lauren taking on a smaller role is going to kill it.
Club 27 Goals
yeah, it's really caused a huge shitstorm though on all the fansites and amongst the fans on her dA. I think as long as she's involved in the company in SOME way, she'll be able to voice her opinions about certain things to the people there even if it isn't part of her official job. The people there probably still have a high regard for her so I don't think her special touch on the show will really go away any. (sorry if this is worded badly, drinks etc)

Oh and people need to start doing more album crossovers so I can replace more album artwork with ponyfied versions.

I'm not worried. I doubt the rest of the staff will take what she helped build up and tear it down just because she's not in charge anymore. The new executive producer will probably be someone who worked with her.

In fact, if you pay attention to the staff list at the end of the episodes, she's not even the only executive producer.

The way some people have reacted to it makes it look like they think Lauren does absolutely everything.

Edit: Also, the real reason for why she's taking a timeout has been discovered. She's pregnant.
Club 27 Goals
lies:

Anyway, I just want everyone to understand that my pregnancy is absolutely, positively NOT the reason I'm no longer on the show.

But yeah I thought it was pretty funny how she complained about being "cyber stalked", but in the end it was found out because both her and her husband changed their profile pictures to pictures of the ultrasound for the baby <_<. She's pretty bad at keeping things secret I guess.

That's what I get for trying to apply logic to the situation.
One shall stand, one shall ball.
Well if season 2 starts off as a 30 minute toy commercial we'll know the reason for sure!

Also the Gala song has kind of grown on me on subsequent listens, still sounds clunky in places but its kinda fun. Art of the Dress is still the best though.

part of my gov final project was for me to assign 6 people to be cabinet members (pretending I'm the president). The first thing that came into my head was which of each of the 6 mane would fit where, but then she totally ruined my idea when she said they had to be real people. I probably would have gotten an A+ on it too if I could have just used the ponies and written about why I chose each one specifically, but nooooo instead I went with Jean-Baptiste Colbert and Protagoras and some other french guys.

I kinda felt like coloring this and posting it somewhere else on the forum, but I'm lazy so I'll just put it here for now.

Is that a baked good or bad? Need to know what the 'troid's intentions are.

It's Ditzy. It wouldn't matter.
One shall stand, one shall ball.
It would obviously matter to the pony equivalent of Adam (Blueblood?). He'd have to know if it's time to do something absurd.

Okay this is officially my favorite pony trailer so far, beating Ponycraft 2 by a tiiiiiny bit.

Stole this from ponychan, but it's really great so I thought I'd post it here as well.

First, start listening to this.

Then, read this while the music is playing.

Try not to cry.

I got all misty eyed ;_;. It's weird because it's not really sad, it's really nice, but yeah, confound these emotions.

EDIT: someone posted this in the same thread. Reading it after the first one, the manly tears could not be held in. Spoilering it to keep the size of this post down.
Let's see if I can up the challenge. I think might be somewhat fitting.

"Um...Twilight?"
"Oh, hello Fluttershy." The pegasus seemed especially coy that day. Maybe it was because even after all these years she still appeared out of place in the high halls of the palace. But still, something was different today "Is something on your mind?"
"Well, no, I mean... Thank you for being my friend.", she but breathed in her familiar soft voice. Yet her eyes were fixated on Princess Twilight with an intensity the unicorn princess had only seen before in her friend on rare occasions.
"Always.", she smiled bashfully. Centuries had forged their bond and through all the rough times they had stood together. After Rarity had gone, the pegasus had become even quieter than she had been when they had first met, yet since then they had become even more intimate in a way Twilight found hard to explain. Even though most of the time they spent together they would just enjoy a few moments of silence together or share a meal with almost no words spoken.
For a while Fluttershy just stood in the doorway and watched the unicorn with a strange glitter in her eyes.
"Is there something else?" Twilight eventually asked. Fluttershy just shook her head gracefully, smiled a last time at her friend, then turned around and left.
The rest of the princess's day was filled with royal duties that kept Twilight from giving the peculiar visit any second thoughts.
The next morning however she had an even rarer visitor. It was Angel, Fluttershy's trusted bunny companion, who resembled his ancestor of the same name almost to a T. Just like the pegasus on the day before, he suddenly appeared in her doorway.
He sat there for a little while, as if lost in thought. But then he motioned the unicorn to follow. He let her out of the palace and into the gated garden. Oh, how wonderfully it was on this sunny spring day, with all the different flowers in bloom and the birds singing on the branches. It was Fluttershy's greatest pride. The pegasus had planted each tree and bush herself, and had befriended each animal living here, of whose the great-great-great-grandchildren played in the sun on this very day.
Twilight could not help but to chuckle, as Angel led her right into the center of the park. She could not help but think back to the first Grand Galopping Gala she and her friends had attended and how Fluttershy had chased all the critters into the ballroom. They had been so young back then, so unable to understand that long ago there had been an immortal keeper to that garden, too. And that once that link had been broken, the critters there had never opened her heart to another pony ever again.
Twilight came to a sudden halt. "Angel, just where are you taking me?", she asked apprehensively. Here, in the shade under the trees she felt a chill in her body. It was quiet here, when had the birds stopped singing?
The bunny did not stop, but hopped urgently onward. Finally they reached the clearing right in the middle of the garden, and there she saw her friend.
Fluttershy laid right next to an ancient oak, as if she had fallen asleep nuzzling its bark. She had planted that oak the day she had begun to lay out this garden, the very day Twilight had granted them all immortality. On her lips there still was that shy smile of hers.
Very slowly she stepped close to the pegasus and gave her a gentle kiss on her forehead. "Thank you for having been my friend."
She sat with her for a long while, at times crying, at times thinking about everything they and their old friends had been through, at times strangely at peace.
Eventually she made her way back into the world of the ponies, that was so light and beautiful, that the notion of immortality appeared like a foreign body. A burden any pony should have to carry forever.

My reaction:
One shall stand, one shall ball.
Uuuuummmmmm excuse me but there can't be a mare in the moon, the first two episodes clearly established this. Pay attention fanfic writers, GOD.
Club 27 Goals
I don't remember them saying anything about a mare in the moon in the first fanfic, but I don't think I'm gonna read it again to find that spot. Or at least not now. It's the first time a written work has gotten me emotional. I've never cried or even gotten sad over a movie, or a video game, or really anything outside of real life, but this show has a changed a lot it seems. I've found that it's vastly improved my overall mood towards other people, and ever since I've really gotten into it I've found it hard to actually hate or get mad at people. I'm sure the show itself isn't the only thing that lead to a huge change in my life, but I certainly think it played a key part, and other smaller things helped as well. Another thing I've noticed since I've gotten into is I've compeltely lost all motivation to play video games. I've never gone for more than 2 or so months where I just find that all games bore me. Usually it only lasts for a few weeks before I find another game that interests me, but for the past 5 months I haven't played any video games except for Portal 2 when my friend came over. I think it's mostly because there's just no social interaction with the single player video games, idk.

I really do think though that the show has changed my life. I've noticed I'm just a nicer person overall, and I'm sure that because of being involved in the fansites and fan communities so much where everyone is just really nice, it's made me nicer as well. It's a huge contrast from what my mindset and mood was like ~6 months ago, and I hope I don't go back to acting that way after all this is over and some time has passed. This show has also made me compeltely loose interest in watching anime at all. I've tried to watch some with my friends, but it just seems so... idk, lacking. I just can't find the emotion in it like I used to, and since the characters show so little emotion I just can't bring myself to care about them, and when I don't care about the characters I don't care what happens to them or what they're doing, so the whole thing is just boring. MLP has totally spoiled me when it comes to liking characters in a show, and the fact that in anime their facial expressions very rarely ever change, or if they do it's always the generic ":D" or "^__^" or ">:( (with a little # on their forehead)" faces. Oh well, not a huge loss or anything.

It's right at the very end.

My Little Pony Friendship is Magic: Victory for Mankind. :v

One thing that's always been a little unnerving about anime character's is that despite how large their eyes are and expressive you'd think they'd be as a result, they really, really aren't. Most of the time it's just some blank, soul less stare. Characters always look really flat and life less. It's not exclusive to anime but I probably notice it more because nerds are always gushing over its amazingness.

Conversely eye movement is a huge part of this show, even when its just simple things like following Pinkie around when she warps around like a lunatic, it adds a lot to the "personality" of the show and its characters. It does little things like that with its animation which makes things just seem more lively and expressive. I can see how that would spoil people on shows or styles that just don't really have that. It's pretty cool.

I got a papercraft woody template, and just printed out the hat scaled down. After modifying it a bit, it came out totally awesome

Now all I need is to get a small red rubber band for her tail, since this one is kinda big.
One shall stand, one shall ball.
I'm seriously shocked they'd make an Applejack with no hat. It's the most wrong thing.
Club 27 Goals
In that case, have you seen Apple jack's pink truck? (she doesn't have a hat in this one either).

It's kinda funny cause it looks like she's kidnapping Twilight.

One shall stand, one shall ball.
Probably kidnapping Twilight because she's the hat thief!

lol even the box knows AJ needs a hat.
Club 27 Goals
my favorite part is that they include a hat, hair pin, and what looks like a vest, but they don't even bother to include a cowboy hat. I guess a brown cowboy hat is too boyish or something.
One shall stand, one shall ball.
Guess Hasbro doesn't want to let children grow up to be cowgirls. Which, I mean, yeah it's probably fair enough, but AJ deserves better.
One shall stand, one shall ball.

Retrospecting over the show, it's definitely been something special. I nearly skipped watching anime altogether while it was on (helped by that I started with, like, 18 episodes), but I've had no real problems going back to it. It's something else entirely, yes, but it's not like I'll stop enjoying something I enjoyed before just because I watched this.

It was definitely the characters that got me hooked, characters is always one of the most important things to me. Even if it very seldom happens that I actually write something (or, more accurately, that I actually finish something I plan on writing), spinning stories around the characters outside of official canon - forming my own, personal canon - is a whole thing with me. Happens with a lot of stuff I watch. Friendship is Magic is definitely no exception. For example, my Pinkie Pie theory. And just the other day I found myself throwing around ideas for a story involving Rainbow Dash's mother, who in my head is Firefly from G1.

I've had this post open for so long now that I forgot how I was going to continue that, so there you go.
