Wow... was that started from a Secret World when you attempted that?

And as far as Command Courtyard, the spot where you stand is VERY easy to get to in my opinion, so it sounds like they adjusted it to not be under cover anymore or something to that effect.

No... I just did a wallclimb up a pole and jumped.

EDIT: Thanks for saving that hazard shield skip place halfway in elysia...

Is turbine chamber still climbable? Because I managed to ghetto myself up to first base, but I can't get up on the bomb piece.
I didn't try it when I got to that point since I'm trying to play normally this first time through, but based on the other fixes to the trilogy I'd assume they did something to prevent that one.

I'm currently about to enter the Metroid area of Elysia, so I'm getting close to the Pirate Homeworld and checking the Hazard Skip for myself.
Prime Hunter: It's been thoroughly fixed. You can't even hide in morph ball form.
Ouch. Well, that means that everything besides perhaps some of the Secret Worlds has been fixed in this version, right?

Looks like Trilogy Corruption is the new Fusion huh?

I'm beginning to seriously regret I bought the Trilogy, should have downloaded it instead in protest.

Yep. Just got to the Homeworld on my Trilogy run, and after copying my save file it's the first thing I tried. Nothing at all in terms of cover down there anymore. I even went to the top floor to see if they fixed anything up there and it feels like the cover is VERY small compared to what I remember. I doubt we'd be able to pull off the other version of the trick by SAing up and over the barrier. (Didn't someone say that they had managed to do that after I found the main method?) I knew they'd probably come up with a way to fix this trick, but this fix stings harder than the others for me since I was there when we found it.

From what I can determine based on what I've read in the three trilogy topics, practically ALL of our Sequence Breaking tricks have either been severely nerfed (As in they require alternative methods than what we'd become used to) or completely fixed in each of the three games. Secret Worlds are about the only things still standing, right?

I still use IS early PB in Prime 1, and it's pretty elegant to preform in the trilogy version. Beside that they've stolen everything! (almost)

So uh... somebody remind me: Once you get the Hazard Shield, you only glow when you're standing in a spot where you get hit by acid rain, correct?

If this is true... I may be onto something again regarding the Command Courtyard.  Wink (I just wish I hadn't erased my save file so quickly or else I'd be able to test my theory personally.)

Edit: Man, this is really bugging me. From where I'm standing it looks like I should be getting hit by the rain, but I'm not glowing like I'd expect to since I have the Hazard Shield. Can anyone think of an spot somewhere where you know you're under the rain but aren't glowing?

Edit 2: Ok, since this was still on my mind now I decided to see if my non-trilogy version of Corruption had a save file I could check, and while it was right before heading to Phaaze I didn't have the Hazard Shield so it worked enough to test my theory. IF they didn't adjust this new spot between then and now, I think I found another way to bypass the shield in Command Courtyard. Again, I can't check it for real right now since both this save file or my current trilogy file are beyond that point in the run.

I only noticed this when I was studying the floor to see where I was, but for the first time I saw that on the very edges of the safe zones there are groups of orange lights on the floor that fluctuate a little. (I guess to simulate the acid rain hitting the ground.) If you're looking at the shield from the main entrance to the room, on the far left close to the Voltate terminal there are two of these groups of lights at an angle to the shield. Standing pretty much between them, I was able to grapple the terminal in my trilogy run (With Hazard Shield equipped) and drain the shield. If you grapple onto the terminal and it immediately breaks, you need to shift towards the center of the room a little in order to grapple properly.

So... IF this works I may have just found an alternative way to drain the shield and get to Skyway Access Early in the trilogy version! grin new If ANYONE is closing in on this spot in a Corruption run, could you please look into this for me?

the first attachment in one of my previous posts is just before hazard shield. i copied it for someone to try this.
the second one was to test the energy cell skip but that was proved to be fized already.
Your hazard shield skip save is in the middle of nowhere in elysia -.-

just board the ship and go to pirate homeworld.
Anywhere, everywhere
Command Courtyard without Hazard is still possible; the space is just smaller than the original corruption.
It's actually really not.
I didn't try it myself during my run, but when I originally landed on the Homeworld I went to the spot to test it out anyway. It didn't look like I'd have been able to slide across the shield to get close enough, although once I had the Hazard Shield there was one spot in the exact corner where I wasn't glowing, but I couldn't tell you if I would've been safe there without it.

Either way I'm probably not going to get around to testing my theory for a while. My brother and I got Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 yesterday, so we're going to be a little occupied. (Although, how exactly would I get/use that save file for my own use if/when I want to test it myself? Would it do anything to the file I already have, or would it only take up another one of the three main save slots?)

well, first, you need to backup your save in an SD card and then copy the save i posted in another SD card with the same directory structure that gets created when you backup a save (put the data.bin in the r3me folder)
then you erase the savefile from your wii and copy the one you got here to your wii to try the trick. once done you can erase it and put back in your savefile.
So I decided to start a Normal run through Corruption anyway because I missed some things the first time around, and I just got back to the Homeworld with Spiderball in tow. Unfortunately, my new safe spot, which looks 100% safe based on the layout of the room, was also modified to be hit by the rain. d'oh!

Hazard Shield Skip can RIP it seems, along with the rest of the better elements of Sequence Breaking and Speed Running for the Trilogy. I'll probably keep this save file regardless just in case I decide to take some further attempts at solving the room down the line,  but it doesn't look promising.

hm that sucks.

looks like i'll never touch the trilogy mp3 again. next time i play mp3, it will be in the original version to sub 3 hours.

looking back, the only game i'll be replaying is mp2 and possibly mp1 if i feel like subbing 2 hours any% there.
too bad nintendo and retro punish gamers if they didn't buy these games day 1.

I could be wrong but an odd change like this could be meant to save space on the disc?
Wasn't there some trick we had found related to that room though? I can't remember. (Something about getting caught between the spinning piece and the wall?)
not evil,just hungry
the change stops a secret world
I didn't see a speed tricks topic so this looks like a good place.  I found a couple tricks that I'm sure are well-known but that is what we're here for right? lol  100% trick-->Valhalla-->missile exp room-->2 plasma slates blocking 2 ecell slots-->SA'ed up pretty easily.  The other was some sort of Hunter metroid (name? if not there are 3 in the game I think...Valhalla, Norion, Pirate HW) glitch where I killed it on the first tentacle.  I'll give an explanation in the uuunlikely case it's unknown. lol

for some reason, the speed tricks topic got unstickied.
anyway, the first trick is several times harder in the trilogy due to additional crap stopping the jump.
