Yeah, the bomb slot is very random, but I'd say if I keep attacking it, I'll get in roughly once every 20 minutes.

I did have a bad Vent Shaft on my SS run. Although it is a difficult trick, you can become much more consistent at it than that. However, it is one of the tougher moves in the game, and you cannot get good at it without a lot of practice.

Geo Core really is random, and it went extremely well on my run. Getting in the bomb slot in 3-4 minutes is a true gift. As I said, on average, I'll have to play for 20 minutes to get in (it can take over an hour at times), so you really can't expect any tips for this, except be patient!
Nice Introducery stefan, I've only managed that once! Took about an hour or two, but I got it. Myabe, razorflame, you should hold off on low% for now. Or just until you become a little better at L-locks, bomb jumps,  and ghettos etc. That's all the advice I have left.

I also made an introduction part, don't know if everything worked out in the vid but it should be fun.

What music did you use for the Geo Core bit?  I like it.
yeh the music is pretty cool! its from Resident Evil 4 Mercenaries with Wesker.

Ah, so it is.  It's annoying how the crappiest characters get the best music.  >.>
I enjoyed your video, Stefan. It was very well made.  :)

the pages give everything that you could possibly need to know.  there is no magic easy solution.  the only advice anyone could give is to keep trying and practicing.  if you think you'll be able to get it in a small amount of time, with a little amount of effort, you are trying the wrong game.

Anyways, yes I know about the Dash Jump method people use to get to the bomb slot in Geo Core, I am more comfortable with that Double L-Lock method, I just do not get what the point of changing the axises is.
And also, I do know that there is no easy or magic solution to complete a no-boost game.  I am just wanting to know if there is anything that you guys did that was different than the instructions so that I may know if it might help me.
Anyways, thanks for the time.

I can see why you're confused here. There is actually no purpose whatsoever, contrary to popular belief.
is it not easier to r-jump forward (i.e. toward the geo bomb slot) with up being look up as well as go forward?
Well, I have done many jumps with y-axis normal and reversed, and it does not seem to make any difference at all to the actual jump itself. The only difference would be that you're looking up when jumping to the slot instead of looking down. I suppose different people are more comfortable with looking different ways, so that's just a personal preference.
Yeah, I'm pretty sure sj13 is right. I use the standard axis configuration, and I can rodeo jump just as well both ways. I prefer the way my axis is now though, because when I want to rodeo jump, I'd rather be looking at the floor than at the ceiling, so I can see enemies and the platform I want to land on.
The reason why I said I want to do the L-lock method is because the dash jump looked too hard for me to do, and I know that I am better at L-Lock jumping anyways.
I have a couple of questions on MPany%, is 9 bombs the minimum from getting up after Flahgraa(Spelling?)?

And is a power bomb on the third round of OP faster than shooting 2 charged plasma shots?

I'm trying to find the fastest way to get through every room in the game, just in case I'll ever do an any% run.

I think using three power bombs is fastest since if you time them all right, they'll damage him as soon as he appears.
always move fast
and as far as im aware, 9 bombs is the fastest for getting up suntower.

I tried around a little, but I've always missed the ledge while trying for 8, but I have a success rate of 75%+ with 9.

It'll be hard ending up with 4 PB's after the "segment before OP",  I think 2 is the highest amount of PB's, maybe shooting 2 charged plasma's on the first round, and using PB's for the other two will work. Then I'll need 1 for Phendrana's edge, but I can get that one from the crates outside of the save room.

And there's no way to, increase the speed of how fast you turn around, or look up and down? I hope you understand what I meant, my english sucks.
Each round you use a PB instead of charged plasma, you should save approximately the time of charging one plasma shot and shooting it, which isn't very much. It would probably take nearly that much time to grab extra PB pickups, so I would suggest just to use plasma on him. You need two more power bombs after him for PE and Artifact of Strength, and there doesn't seem to be any PB pickups directly on your path. Keep in mind that I haven't done any timing on OP, I'm just saying what makes sense to me.

As for the turning and looking up/down thing, all I can say is don't do both at the same time, because that seems to slow the process down a lot.
I can use 2 PB's on OP without it slowing me down, I'll just pick a PB up from a hunter metroid at Fungal hall A, and one in the crate outside of the save room, that'll make 3, 2 for OP and one for Phen's edge.

And I'll get through the room behind OP faster if I don't pick up the energy tank, right?
Kip uses 10 bombs in his awesome 1:04 run to climb sun tower.
It'll take me longer to use 10 than to use 9.
always move fast

don't think it would be faster, because you gotta go to the wall to quickly make it through the opening gate anyway iirc.
I think you'll reach the gate faster if you don't pick up the energy tank.

I'll have to look that one over.
The time saved for not getting the tank might be close to notheng but after omega you don't need tanks for anything anyway. If you don't have any tanks yet then I see no reason not getting it though, still have to fight Prime.

Another thing that would help would be a fast insinerator drone fight. Is it completely random when insinerator drone shows its weak spots or is there some sort of technique to it? I'm having a hard time getting a good fight, it usualy turns out 10 to 15 seconds slower than the fastest fight I have seen, wich is exactly one minute.
always move fast
djgrenola (iirc) ran some tests ages back, and i think he came up with ~47 seconds as the theoretical fastest.  no idea how accurate that is, but its something to keep in mind anyway i suppose.  and yeah, completely random, as far as everything ive ever heard of/seen at least.
It is ridiculous that the incinerator drone fight is 3 times longer than flaagrah.
