for instant unmorph, hit X when the floor edge is covering half of the morph ball when you go into the abyss. this has to happen before the camera starts scrolling towards the pit so you have to be quick and unmorph when you go off and as soon as you see the ball covered.

Okay, how do I get pass Grand Abyss after that (I checked the route with my 100% save, and it looks like I need to use the dark portal)?

My opinion corruption bsj is so much harder. I don,t have trouble make that in Echoes, but it is always pain for me in Corruption.

Somereason i am only person who have more trouble make bsj in Corruption than Echoes laugh new

@Aegis runestone
You need use dark portal in grand abbys or alternate you can use difficult dash jump in Vault. I just think it is much better idea use little bit slower dark portal here.

Yeah, someone directed to me to some videos of how to get the dark portal open without the spiderball. So far, I'm looking at the Ghetto Jump/Rezbite Jump as my best shots at getting that portal.

Please post casual conversation pieces like that in the social topic so as not to get off-topic in Metroid-specific boards.
I REALLY need help with the Emperor Ing Screw Attack trick.

I can't get it to work at all. No matter how I pass through, he only takes one tiny bit of damage, then never, ever gets damaged again by it.

This is on hard mode by the way.

I need all the specifics on how to do it.
NEVERMIND EDIT

Gotta hit those feet, not legs.

can any one give me a link to a text based (mostly text atleast)  non sbing guide to 100% item (I don't care about scan)? I found a 100% text based 100% run guide for mp1 before couple years ago, so hopefully there are at least one for mp2.

I will be prining it because I won't have internet access for a while (switching internet plans), I can print it off in the local library.

EDIT: nvm found one at mdb
Take cover or die...
Hey guys. Haven't really posted here in a while because I took a break on speedrunning for a month or two and decided to make a new no-SJ game. I got back to vault--where I was stuck--except two and a half hours earlier. My friend said that there was a way to get more distance with a dash jump, since I was having trouble getting to the 2nd and 4th spinners. He said to tap B twice after locking on to dash and it gives you more distance. I tried that along with the floaty R-dash in tjp's speedrun and eventually made it to the spinner for the first time. Next try, I got both of them and got screw attack. I just wanna know, is that really a trick to double tap B for extra distance on the dash, or did I just get lucky? Also, how many people have gotten past vault without SJ? If I'm like the third one and I also got past Grand Abyss without grapple, then I think I'm catching on to most of this pretty quickly. Hehe.

I`m playing MP2 for the first time and I got stuck Torvus.

It`s in that morphball pipe circle thing. Last item was gravity boost. Now I can enter Dark Torvus and once again go through that circle, but there is nothing to head next.

Any idea?

After gravity boost you need to :

In torvus (not dark torvus) theres a bomb slot that you can get to now that you have gravity.  Its underwater in THE CATACOMBS.  Activate that bomb slot to reveal where u need to go next.

EDIT: spoiler removed. (just a habit I guess)

Isn't this game a little old for spoiler tags?  (4 years old, actually.)

Yes. Please don't use spoiler tags when talking about games more than a few months old.

I`m not sure, but I might have done this already...
I`ll check that.

Alright, first of all, never mind my last two questions, those weren't real "I need help" questions.

Ok, so when I first started my no-SJ run, I was asking for some help on some of the hard rooms, but now I realize that not everyone is attempting a run like this, so no one would answer. After a while I finally made it up to the last big challenge: Hive Entrance SW!

I'm hopin that I'll get some help on this one because SWs are a more generic topic, so more people should know about this. SWs are one of the things in this game I can't do at all, so I really need some help on this. I can make it as far as the Hall of Combat Mastery part ( Dark World) and right before Unseen Way. When I try to get the door open by falling next to it, I keep falling below the room and have no way back up ( which is what annoys the crap out of me the most, because it always happens in any room ). I know it's kinda confusing, but more people are into Secret Worlds in this game than no-SJ runs, so I'm just hoping for some answers. Thanks.

Also, I'm just clarifying that I need help on not falling out of the map every time. I'm following tjp's run ( and Mr. Potter's for some parts ) and I know how to get to the next places, but some text form on when to move back or press B or something would help.

Bananas GOOD, Kremlings BAD
Excellent that you should get that far in the No-SJ run.  Yeah, Unseen Way is the most annoying part (followed by Dark Hive Entrance) I'll see if I can find the discussions we had about this and edit the post.  I've forgotten all the details to get this to work, so I have to shake my memory...

EDIT: After a quick look at the video, here's what I can think of:

-To get to the door of UW
-For the first part of UW, I'm just inching left, back and forward to stay on the thin ledge around it.
-In 6:13 of the segment on Archive.ORG I'm centering my body on the little white protrusion.  There's a very thin place to stand at the tip and it's very easy to fall off (obviously).  I move at an angle against the invisible walls to make sure I'm moving slowly in the direction I want.
-The next problem is getting around the first angled surface to the left.  You have to get far enough around it to be able to stick to the wall and fall safely to the little ledge you can stand on.  This will probably be a problem area for you as it was for me.
-The second one isn't as bad and the video is basically self-explanatory.
-When you manage to get to the very top of the level, then walking toward the door you have to be careful not to go too far forward because the game will make you fall earlier than you expect it.  Just make sure you pull back on the control stick to stay on top of the door (around 7:45 to 7:50).

If you get this far, then we can talk about the rest...
Hated by all
It's been two years since I've played Prime 2, and I need to refresh my memory.

What do I do after getting Grapple (or in any rate, which portal should I go through to look for the keys)?

Is it Torvus?? I think the first one is in the area underwater
Anywhere, everywhere
After grapple, you can fight the area boss. One key is right next to the Boost Guardian, and is pretty hard to miss. Another is in the underwater section, and another is right next to the boss. To get to the boss, go through the portal in Forgotten Bridge and it should be straightforward from there.
Take cover or die...
Thanks for the info. I'll try that, because I've only made it to the culling chamber once (I'm really bad at going around in SWs), and I don't want to mess up again if I make it back there.
Bananas GOOD, Kremlings BAD
I hope you realize that it will probably take you a lot of tries to successfully get the key....

I have a little problem with underwater dash, in the video

the guy's camera was point up, rather mine was pointing straight and I've only gotten like right along the walls of the ledge,

You must do that underwater dash with L and R. First find place where you want jump, second hold L-button, then jump in down and press R-button and straight. That's underwater dash is lucky. I hope this help you. Wink

Oh, for the early PB in Dynamo Chamber (Temple Grounds). When you're still in TAS, how should you position yourself to jump to the door into the DC?

EDIT: Whoops, nearly forgot. ^^; Is there anyway to get to SF early without boost ball and early PB?
for the pb, check this: it should answer most questions.

for sanctuary, yes you can get in without boost ball.
either use the emerald translator or the 101% ghetto to get past the translator door.
in the sanctuary elevator room you can float for a half hour to reach the secret world and then wallcrawl past the spinners (and you'll need to keep going past the dark visor/seeker puzzle a few rooms ahead too; a very difficult wallcrawl).
however there is no practical reason to go there without boost as you can not get screw attack (spinners) or spider ball (half pipes) without it. hope that helps
