I'm lucky I didn't hit that glitch myself, because the room in question is right after round three with Dr. Octopus. I hated that guy so much I'm amazed I didn't go back and save after him.
Speaking of bugs, has anyone found their Wii unable to read the disc? I'm having that problem now with Brawl, and there have been similar complaints about Other M.
dual-layer discs seem to cause older wii lasers to crap out. both of those games are dual-layered discs. better get nintendo's phone number to get it fixed before no games work.
I don't have any issues with Brawl, but it is hard for me to get Other M to load. I have the first generation of Wii. (got it on the day it launched) Will Nintendo even do anything with it since it is so old? Or would I be better off buying a new (kick-ass looking) black Wii?
I'm pretty sure they take back old Wiis that have DREs and replace them free.
Call the customer service to be sure.
Nintendo replaces pretty much anything for free. I unintentionally voided my DS's waranty once, by causing the sticker on the back to fall off, but they fixed it for free and renewed my waranty anyways. Awesome customer service FTW.
it wasn't a problem before to send in a softmodded console but recently it has become a problem. i fear if my wii craps out again. i use HDD loader most of the time so that laser should last long but it still gets some use with GC games a a few Wii games that are more convenient to run though disc.
I used to have homebrew, but the system update I needed to play Mega Man 10 wiped it out. (Ironically, that's why I rented Brawl...) Anyone know if they'll still be able to tell?

Nintendo has claimed this is due to internal contamination, such as from cigarette smoke. Though I don't know if that's really true or not...

It could be a factor but not the only one. Another one some have said is neglecting the Wii. No one smokes at my home and I certainly don't neglect my Wii yet it still had issues running dual-layered disks.
According to Nintendo, it's caused by killing the Dessgeegas after the Ice Beam, then backtracking to the room where you get the Ice Beam. It makes sense, considering that's the only point in the game where it makes any sense for the door to be locked. If you go through the door after the Dessgeegas before backtracking, then you'll be fine.
It's so very sad that they test for hours upon hours to find and remove sequence breaks, but they apparently can't fix the bugs that fans want to see fixed.
yeah. reminds me of that no bombs glitch in mp2 that a lot of people encountered by accident even in the trilogy. that's the reason why i hate their attitude.
