I'd just like to say thanks for your rubbish, utterly useless advice and ways to cheat at this game. You people make me laugh, using macros and slowdowns to fly through the game and the turn around and show off is juvenile and pointless. Real players don't need to play a game 20000 times to be good at it. You guys are pathetic, acting like it matters, talkng down to the new users who just want a little advice. It's people like you who ruin games like this.

If anyone talks down to anyone else for any reason, then that is certainly uncool. But there is nobody on here who claims to be an amazing player from using emulation features. Those features are cheats and everyone knows it, there's no secret about it. Nobody is using TAS and claiming that they're not.

That being said, if you haven't submitted a console condition run showing your skills then how can you start calling rank like that? You can't tell someone that they suck unless you show how you DON'T suck, and you can't call anyone a cheat without even a shred of evidence.

One shouldn't have to play a game 20000 times to be good at it, but those who have played it excessively are trying to be BETTER than good at it. In fact there are actual records that are trying to be matched or broken here, personal or otherwise. Someone who has played the game a gazillion times is going to be better than someone who is just 'good' at it, unless you are a savant.

If you wanna gripe about manners then fine, but don't bring the games into it.

But that's the point, I'm not gonna record myself playing because I don't play Super Metroid as fast as humanely possible, using TAS to fly through the game, and then show off on this forum. It's like passing a test 100% after failing time after time. And I can't stand people on this forum with their manners. You can't talk to or get replies from anyone without 'touting their horn'. Pointless.

But if someone records their run, TAS or otherwise, and then presents it for whatever purpose, it shouldn't piss you off.

If one or more members has been rude to you, don't dog the whole forum, or TASing, or recording, or anything else that has nothing to do with someone's bad manners.

i wonder if he thinks we're trying to compare tas to actual speedruns. they're two completely different categories. tases can be just as impressive as normal speedruns (imo). however, speedruns take a lot of trial and error too. plus, many tases have helped normal speedrunners with tricks, strategies, etc.

I post a topic about a genuine problem and no one cares or even offers any sort of advice. Post a topic like this and the replies come flooding in. I'd like us to all stop here for a moment and consider the Ankylosaurus. A large quadrupedal dinosaur of the late Cretaceous period, like a tank if tanks were also dinosaurs. Nothing in the world was as good at kneecapping Tyrannosaurs as the Ankylosaurus. That guy could stomp on in as demand that his local T-Rex pay exorbitant fees to protect his knees from destruction, indeed, it was the mob boss of prehistory. I think that's pretty cool. :3

Also: 'literally force you to answer my topic by insulting you'; what insults? If there were insults, why should that affect my posting? It's a forum, it's designed for being posted in, you and your 'insults' don't come into play here. I also like (coming back to an old point) how on a forum, you choose to call someone 'all talk', and ignore people's posts that are against your opinion (which goes back to self-fulfilling prophecies, but you don't care...)

I've been playing metroid longer than you have been alive, but it doesn't mean shit. You haven't 'literally forced' anyone to do anything.

I'll say it again: if you think some of the people on here are assholes, smug, or pretentious then that's great. Woop-dee-doo. Did you come here to make friends, or talk metroid? I absolutely hate some of the people on here but I don't confuse my hatred for them with the subject at hand, and I sure as hell don't start a topic about it.
