What'd you say?
Super Metroid: Starburst

Hello, I know you all are waiting for Supernova, but I needed a break from that. So I present to you a one room hack for you all to enjoy.

This is beatable in real time without savestates, although I HIGHLY suggest savestates as the grapple section and spacejump section can be a bitch without them.

Required skills:
Mid air morph
Walljump into mid air morph
Mockball (with a flat ceiling)
Speedball (with a flat ceiling)
A decently short charge, not requiring stutter walk

You beat this after you get the energy tank (you'll understand.)

This is for unheadered!

Please enjoy!

Edit: Sorry, forgot to put the patch into the first post, look below for the IPS.

Yoshi is back
It is. I just beat it. It's fucking hard man. I hated the grappling part and the ice beam part. Those we're hardest. otherwise it was a great game, Great job David.

Edit: I know why, It gives you all 14 Energy and it's returning.
What'd you say?
Yea, I had to find a way to make ice beam required, took me like 15 minutes to work that one out.

And yea, the ending is pretty much the same as my mini hack's:

Yoshi is back
Heh, Yeah Ice Beam is a tough one to find reasoning for in hacks. Especially Mini hacks. Anyways, I've got to get off, My bitching brother is rushing me off. I'll be gone for the week so Expect NO work or anything, done over the weekend. See ya'lls munday

finished it wasn't that hard but the ending was weird you get stuck in an infinite loop. Nice mini hack for people who aren't that good in all of the special tricks (secially IBJ i hate them). aiwebs_008
Yoshi is back
Yeah, IBJ too I suck at IBJ.

Super Secret Area - Dead Ahead!
Hehe.  Me loves da IBJ. aiwebs_011  Testing now.  I'll edit with comments in a mo.

EDIT: Finished.  It was worth the five-minute diversion.  It started out OK, with some fairly average trickery, but once it got to the Ice Beam section, it was an arse.  The biggest problem I had was the enemy you're supposed to freeze would sometimes be completely invisible when frozen, making it impossible to see wehn he thawed, and thus get anywhere.  Also, if you weren't thinking, and killed it, then you're perma-stuck too.
Out of Phazon seeds.
Finished it. I found the Space Jump part to be the hardest since I'm not used to keyboard controls.
What'd you say?
As for the ice beam bug, I knew of the invisibility glitch, not sure how to solve that, as for perma-stuck, I made him respawn.
Yoshi is back
Well, I found that It's hard to do the Ice beam part only because you have to have timing, elsewise you get pushed off by the Treadmills
Actually, I found that as long as you aren't facing down when you land on the bug, you don't fall.
Yoshi is back
Well, that explains it all.
Well, this was a nice, fun hack, and was quite enjoyable. And yes, the grapple and space jump sections were a pain. I was wondering something, though. How did you intend for us to get the bombs?

My first thought was to kill the bug hive, which worked, but on a different playthrough, I accidentally did the morph glitch through it. Was this intended? If it wasn't, it certainly made things easier.
Yoshi is back
He put it to like, 2000 hits and 20 damage....It took me forever to get it.
Super Secret Area - Dead Ahead!
I think it was intended that way.  It's certainly a darn sight easier than killing it.  Perhaps immunity to your shots would make this more obvious?
Yoshi is back
Heh, Maybe......It was hard as hell though.
What'd you say?
I couldn't figure out the enemy DNA to make it immune to normal shots (I now know it) so I just jacked the HP really high to make it kinda obviously that kagoballing through it would be easier and faster.
Yoshi is back
Kagoballing? I don't recall that being a trick I know.
Morph as soon as you land on one of those rising/falling spike platforms and you'll fall through it.  It's a useful speed trick in the vertical shaft that's three rooms before Ridley.

Dave, you really really REALLY need to go over this page, soak up as much info as you possibly can:

Yoshi is back
Ok, I did. I know 2 new things now.
Super Secret Area - Dead Ahead!
It's called the Kagoball because the trick that Opium described was first discovered with the Kago - the enemy that you have to (are supposed to) morph through in this hack.
