Super Metroid: Ridley's Revenge
V1.2 is up!

This is a few room hack that me and my step brother have been working on for a few days now and I believe it is ready for release!

Tricks required:

mockball
double bomb jumping
mid air morph
slight short charge
single wall jumping

I assume it's over after Ridley then?

Fun little way to spend 10-15 minutes. I found everything except I had 5 ET's when I fought him.

I think I found several sequence breaks.

I found the gravity suit before grapple beam. Is this normal?

I also found wave beam without space jump.

There is a place where I can get stuck and the bomb won't help me out.

There is a tile glitch after I bomb jumped through the pole.

I was able to jump through the ceiling, even with spike.

Ridley kept getting stuck in the lower left corner of his room when I fought him, he would stay there until I set a power bomb.

Maybe I shouldn't have shinesparked in the last room...

Alright, I think I fixed everything, see if you can get wave beam early again.

Am i supposed to find myself in the long hall before the Ice Beam of the original SM after beating Ridley?
That room repeated again and again and over and over...see the vid. So i was able to collect even more than 12 energy tanks. Very Happy

Some of the items were mixed up as well. Though, I always got the necessary item to proceed the images/sprites/whatever were wrong (Space Jump had the PlasmaBeam icon for example).

Using ZSNES v1.51 with auto-patching and v1.2 of your patch.

Yeah, I can still get wave beam early. I can even still get gravity suit early in the same way. The only way to prevent an early wave beam is to replace the broken blocks with slope blocks.

Hmm. I'm not sure what I did but I missed getting bombs... And now I can't find them anywhere. And yes. I know where they're supposed to be. I had to reset and then I (must've) went the right way on the 2nd try.

And here I thought this was supposed to be really tough. Razz

Let me try to remember what I did...

I got morphball first,
I was able to

roll under/through the missile door, -I'm not sure if that was intentional or not, but sometimes it does mess up the door graphics.

Then I got speed booster.

Edit: then the bombs were missing.

Here it is. I should be where you can see the bomb item upgrade. I thought about going into that area but I didn't want to try to get out via the -jump through a low ceiling- glitch. I end it by going through the missile door and pausing to show the item screen... Which I'm sure you could've done anyway at the end of the smv. Razz

Made with Snes9X v 1.43 v15.3 -if it makes any difference.

Edit: The attached smv shows you where I was in the game. I tried to recreate the glitch but couldn't. Maybe I went to that other room....

I'll try to get an smv of where you can see the bombs, then see them missing -but not obtained.

Edit2: I found out why it disappears. It's because I sequenced breaked. Embarassed

After I get the grapple beam the bombs disappear. I guess it's all because I could get past that missile door to get speed booster. Bomb test smv attached.
