So I managed to get an early Super Missile Tank in Norfair by using some fancy OWWJ.  You probably know this one by now/have gotten it yourself Drewseph, but I was pretty happy about it.  I made a small video detailing how to get it for those who don't know how.

Single-wall-wall-jumps aren't all that hard at all really imo
I'm getting better at them, but they're definitely harder to do here than in the original.

dude!  awesome video, That music makes SMR seem even cooler!  nice walljumping, as you can tell I carefully measured and spaced things just far enough so that it was walljumpable, and you found the right way to do it =)  good work

EDIT:  I've also been meaning to show this.  this is how the lost caverns actually looks in game

wow. now I must learn where you placed the teleport plm's.
Embarrasing Fact: Power suit made by lowest bidder
I had a sudden flashback of this when I saw the map.
OWWJ aint that hard in redesign, its just, harder than usual, and OWWJ normally is easy xd

anyways, lol @ 8-bit theatre, i love it xd

I was watching the Tourian vids,
and after seeing Samus having the crap beaten out of her, jeez. Here was the inventory I guessed: Hyper Beam, Morph Ball, Bombs, and Wall Jump Boots. Is that it?

Edit: Plus, I wonder. Are SNES 9X ver 1.51 and ZSNES ver 1.51 work with this?
Edit 2: Covered what I said up.

Tey both work with this hack

Well, I know this other patch is old, but I felt like putting in that justin bailey patch from Auximines, and giving it to Redesign. Any help about the patching order (in essence, which one first, and should I tweak the game name to the first patch, and then change it to the second?)

Constant Sorrows
Unless Drewseph moved Samus' tile data (which he may or may not have done) you should be okay to apply it after patching Redesign to a ROM. If it doesn't work, try it the other way around, but it'll probably look very bleh. I'd just apply both patches and not worry about names, unless you're soft patching, which I never do and you'd have to ask someone else. :P

Well, I just started this, and I'm already getting slaughtered, but not to an extreme. Well, kudos to making a fast fire feature, I was able to shoot like mad at Ridley in the opening.

good job with the hack, it must've taken forever.
however, i cant stand the new phisics ect.    its a totally different game

its good, but not for me

Did anybody beated this game in less that 3 hours?
Hated by all
I would doubt in under three hours, although the ReadMe did say "turn from 30 minutes to two hours." It would take a very fast and insane Tool-Assisted Speedrunner to do that.
Every Bit Counts
actually, 2 hours was broken by TASers a long time ago. The goal for Saturn's TAS is sub 1 hour.
Current record for SM-Redesign: 1:12 by Drewseph
Video of that run is available here:

I work on a run as well, aiming for sub 1 hour as Fano said. Progress can be seen here:

Almost happy
Wow great, I didn't know that drewseph's run had been encoded into an avi, I was never able to watch it because of his being done in an older version than I could find. I'm downloading it right away :)

Can someone put DrewSeph's AVI recording in a compressed (WinRAR archive) format? I use the VLC Media Player, but it takes me two hours to save the clip uncompressed.

The AVI file is already compressed as much as possible. Using WinRAR won't be able to compress it by more than 1% anyway.

If you have a very slow connection, the best I can recommend is to watch the direct stream, which allows you to check any part of the run without the need to fully download it.

The smallest size stream can be found here.

I see that, Saturn. I have a very crappy DSL connection (768 kilobytes per second). I would like to see your full TAS when it's finished.

Edit: YES! I finally got the DrewSeph AVI, after an hour and a half of waiting! Piece of crap transmission only took 76 Kilos, not like 256, which could have made the job easier.

Who knows when that will be.

I want Samus in headphones.
I both hate and love this hack. The area before and after, as well as Lost Caverns especially. (Isn't there somewhere one can refill between those purple ninja pirates and one-eyed squid dude, whose name escapes me?)

I've been watching someone's play through on youtube, and it's helped me though parts where I'd be lost, or have difficulty getting though. But when I first started, I was watching a TAS video for help. I realized that it wasn't the best thing after watching them get the high-jump boots early.

Edited to add question.
the metroid is a lie !
i dont know about anyone else but this hack seemed way to long to me, Evil or Very Mad
i mean yea its a good hack and all but for me the whole adventure  was just taking way to long. Evil or Very Mad
and in the readme he explains that he wanted to make a 30 minitue game into a two hour one
yet i took me neerly two weeks just to get into norfair it may just be my bad skills but i would
rather enjoy a decent sized hack which was bigger than the original just not two times the size.

soz if i caused any offence but this just bugged me still a great hack though grin new.
defrag in progress
I am also not a high skilled player, but I like the hack. It always kept me motivated to go on, despite its length.
I like it because you don`t need speedtricks to beat it. And if you get lost, than you just missed a door in most cases.
Golden Dawn is much more frustrating in this point.

@Saturn: When do you want to go on with your great TAS? I am looking forward to see more and WIP4 is nearly one year old...
