You can't. Just smash the enemies on your way in and out for refills (way in: kill bugs in room 2, way out: that parasite nest out on right side on room 1).

Easy Mode E-Tanks-2, Normal-1; Second Room: Easy-No heat, Normal-heat; Third Room: Easy-Just plain run, Normal-Mockball to get in and out.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Basically, to get speed booster on original, get to the energy recharge in the third room and recharge on the right side. Then, you need to get speed booster and speedball out over the energy recharge. Once you're back in the bubble room, get up against the left wall, shoot down, and pause, all as quickly as possible.
I hang out at TASVideos sometimes but it's been a long time ago though. Or at GameFAQs under the name FAQ GOD.
Anyway love the Metroid series and I'm familiar with all the tricks or most of them. Also done speedrunning very old TASes of SM, but also on the console.

Anyawy, wow, awesome hack. Probably the first which has really caught my attention and had me stuck playing it to see what's next.

Only problem is...
I shouldn't be here this early right? Or should I go somewhere else? i.e. I have no E-Tanks. Just 5 missiles, morph ball, bombs, charge beam.

If you're playing the original version, you'll need 1 more e-tank. Which can be found back up in Juolbrin. Luckily you're very close to it.
Oh yeah, it's the original and not easy.

Thanks I'll search for that tank.

This is a glitch I've never seen before at all...

I've mentioned this before...  In one of the rooms there is that machine thing that breaks through blocks.  Some blocks you have to use the grapple or a Super Missile to break so the machine can get through.

Be very careful using the grapple beam. You can fall through the floor and then fall through from the top of the screen 2(?) more times.  Embarassed

Perhaps a morphball tunnel and a 'one way out' block could've alleviated that...? :-?  I dunno.
Can I get through these speed blocks from this side? (Original version.)

I'm sure you could with a super short tas charge or bluesuit, but not in realtime. Trust me, you never need to use this route.
I want Samus in headphones.
I downloaded this a few days ago, and it's pretty fun. I've gotten the morphball. : ) (P.s. It's the easy version)
Two questions:

1) is IBJ supposed to be required in Normal mode?  Because that's what I did to get an energy tank before speed booster.

2) now that I have the speed booster, where do I go from here (stuck in this place in BOTH easy and normal mode).  I mean, I think I need Supers, but no clue where they are.  and just give me a general idea of where to go.  I'd like to figure out the details for myself.

1) As far as I know you shouldn't have had to IBJ to get that energy tank.  If it's the one I'm thinking of then a quick wall-jump to midair morph would have worked.

2) After speed booster you should either head to the landing site, or look for Kraid in about the same place as he is in the original version (can't remember which)
OK, scratch that where to go question, I just had a moment of incredible stupidity there.

Anyways, about that energy tank
Right next to the elevator that goes down to the lava area, there's a room with acid and worms.  The tank can be reached from an alcove above that room.  But I don't see how walljump->midair morph helps.  The spikes seem to completely block that, as the hole is too far from the wall.

I'm definitely thinking of a different energy tank.  The one I'm thinking of is to the right of the red brinstar elevator, and I can't even remember if that one is even in the original version at all.  I DO remember that the energy tank thats in the first hells run area (the room with the collapsing chozo statue) cant be reached until much later in the game.  Do you have any screenshots?
yes, here

I just IBJed into the hole there.

Yeah IBJ is required there. I can't think of many more places where it's required.

I just got Plasma. Should I be heading for Keruarn for another Hell's Run to Elridge East?

You're definitely on the right track
Yeah, I just got Ice, and this time I really am stuck.  Supers seem like they'd help dramatically, but no clue where they are.

You need to find Eldridge  (wrecked ship)

Go back to the Red Juolbrin Elevator Shaft. Go to the room on top, and get through it (bomb the dead guy's floor to get back to Surrpiere).

You need to get Grapple before entering the Elridge (unless you can pull off an insane quantity of HBJ'ing).

It's in Green Juolbrin. If you remember the Gauntlet in the original, that's what I'm talking about. It will need use of the Speed Booster.

I got the tank... and it only took me about an hour of actually trying.

I am determined to 100% this.

WHy does the background in that screenshot look like puke o_O.

DMantra, I've been wondering where you got that white chozo. Did you just make a palette change of the cre chozo?

It's a typical chozo in both layer1 and layer2, given the fx1 i added to the room, it overlapped and created a white chozo.
