spelling and grammar on the internet is serious business.

Why shouldn't it be? Because frankly I don't see the good thing about having to decipher messages before you can understand them, and on this site most of the users (well at least a lot) actually do write properly, it would be nice too keep it that way.

And I don't understand why people respond negatively to critique about their spelling (as long as it is not done in a highly offensive way), is it a bad thing to actually learn stuff?

I honestly don't see why it's a big deal if someone isn't the most proficient or articulate through their writing, provided that those reading it can still understand the main point of the message.  I don't feel that his original message was incredibly difficult to understand, and it could be quite possible that his main language isn't even english in the first place.

It's not a bad thing to learn, or to consistently try to better yourself, but at the same time what does making a condescending comment to a random person over the internet really prove besides the fact you feel you are more intelligent and want to make fun of someone?  Can i understand being upset that he's giving major spoilers about the end of the game away?  Absolutely.  Was a one liner insult to call out his lack of grammar, spelling, and punctuation necessary?  Not at all.

And sorry for going off-topic on this, and I would not have a problem with a topic like this being moved to the off-topic board if you wish to discuss our opinions on the matter further.

Wow this is getting really off-topic.  You have to admit that it makes little sense to tell him that he was being rude by pointing out someone's lack of grammar skills, then turn around and post a link to a racist article.  All I could think about when I read that was my favorite English professor, who happens to not be white.
Your message would have been stronger had the article not included any reference to race.

Your opening yourself up for serious flamage.
One shall stand, one shall ball.
Grammar is only really a problem if the person puts no effort into making their post readable, if they don't care enough about what they're saying to say it clearly and correctly I don't see why I should care enough to address their point or question.

That said killern's post didn't bother me too much as it didn't require a full translation from internet speak to understand his problem, though I don't think it hurts to point out things like run on sentences, it's good to know what errors you're making so that you can correct them in the future.

I honestly just thought (coming from the perspective of a 25 year old white male) it was a funny article.  It wasn't meant to be turned into a racial thing, but rather speaking purely on the comedy of calling out someone's spelling or grammar (just so happened it was in the context it was) when in all honesty you did know what they meant to say.  And i do agree i can feel this getting off topic when other people respond, so in respect to what the thread is about it would be better off to just delete the series of comments to avoid pages of pointless bickering over what amounts to opinions.

I'm back in the Elridge, but the only thing that i found was a missile tank.

The operation was completed successfully.

Clear time: 10:58
Item collection: 74% (I couldn't get a screenshot to work right).

Easy version.  All lore except Keruarn, animals saved, although admittedly not on first escape attempt.

Tools:  Save states (many).  Slowdown -- No.

Hardest part IMO:  Ridley.

I loved it.  Weird area names aside, it was creepy, atmospheric, nearly glitchless, and fun as heck to play.  I thought the difficulty on easy mode was about perfect, maybe a tad easy in most places.  A challenge level somewhere between easy and normal would be ideal.  I think that's different for everyone though.  I wouldn't have minded a required mockball or two, some shorter charges, maybe a few tougher mid-air morphs, but normal mode sounds like a tad much.  I hate suitless heat so even on easy that was enough.  The bosses were all pretty easy for me except for Ridley, 1st ninja pirates, and, to a lesser extent, GT, although he wasn't too bad.

Great hack.  Right up there with my favorites.
lol it seems like no one finds the Keruarn lore.

I found it finally the other day!

Is anyone working on a 100% video?  I'm getting tired of looking for the last few items
heya folks i gonna wait with completing the game because i going to get the hi jump boots first but i really dont know where they are  but anyways im not that good at english and pointing out that there here and there wrong spelling or grammar i dont mind you learn from mistakes the most :)

peace folks and let the subject of spelling and grammar thingy out of it you discuss things about a awesome hack here not spelling and grammar :P
Also, the only major item I never encountered (and why I had only 74%), was X-Ray.  Don't spoil too much, but a hint as to the general area where I should look?

It's in Melfad, you have to have gravity suit first
You don't need
gravity suit
to get
high jump

At least not in the easy version you don't.

Am I thinking of
wave beam?
Hated by all
Can I survive another suitless heat skit through Keruarn to get to East Elridge with only 3 E-Tanks? I'm hunting for items right now (en route to Keruarn, with 15 Missiles and 10 SMs with Grapple).

I believe the next item you need is in keruarn, and getting it will involve another suitless run.

I found the Spazer, but no suits.

I did the VAR Beam Trick without obtaining the wave beam, for "beat" the game, total time 4:35, 36% Items

What's the 'VAR Beam Trick' ?
Almost happy
I think he means he completed the game by using space/time beam.

oh, lovely..
Butterfly --

Here's the item progression as I recall it:

You beat Ridley and get wave.  Wave allows you to get into the area that houses GT and gravity.  You can go to Maridia/Melfad and get high jump before or after.  Having high jump makes the gravity area easier but it's quicker to wait.  The only thing I think you NEED gravity for is to get to and beyond Draygon, get screw attack, get space jump, and to get into the final area
