Quick update for anyone who's wondering... had a trip to the hospital this week, found another ailment, but treatment since then has been pretty good and I'm finally starting to recover (ie, not in constant pain).
Still very weak and tired, unfortunately, but it's a lot better than it was a week or two ago. Hopefully I can return to the hacking scene soon.
Don't worry about the hacking scene, it'll still be here when you're better. And getting better is the important thing.
On a more serious note. How serious was/is your illness Acheron (I understand if you don't want to share that). Wish you a speedy recovery.
Well, it started out with an outbreak of hives, which I'd never had before and is quite uncomfortable, but not serious. However, hives can lead to a staph infection, which I contracted, and it was a MRSA variant, which means it's resistant to antibiotics. Then, the medicines I was on caused me to get a yeast infection, which I didn't even know men could get, but yeah. The general shittiness of my health at that point was probably what weakened my system enough for me to get the flu, and at some point internal ulcers and bleeding got in there too. It was a magnificent cocktail of maladies, and I'm still sort of dumbfounded at how my body could just completely crap out like that... still in some pain and discomfort now, but overall I'm recovering. It's possible I have ulcerative colitis; it's an uncurable (but treatable) condition that's heredity in the family, and my sister's dealt with it for a while now. We're not really able to tell at this point, though... I'm hoping this was an isolated, random incident.
Its more like a chain of unfortunate events really... One sickness leads to another, to another...each one wearing him down more for the next one to get him... Its a sad, sad tale.
I really hope your back to your old self soon Acheron... good luck!
Same here. Ouch, that sounds really bad. But, on the bright side, supposedly your luck should be really good now, after a run of the bad! Hope you get way, way, way better. Right now, I'm home sick, too. Woke me up in the morning nearly throwing up, but it's nothing compared to yours.
