I know that.. But i remember it being said it wasnt going to be a big mapwise as redesign... Thats what im askin can we expect after aegis a SM remake as big (or bigger) than redesign in the future?
That would be kinda hard... if my grip on Super Metroid hacking isn't bad, I remember that there is a limit to how big you can make Super Metroid... if there wasn't, there would already be hacks thatare like, 5x the size of Super Metroid.
If eating up all the data was possible (with a lower than 5% share of free space), then you can have a hack that's over 30000 screens wide (this is just a guess, I don't make accurate counts).
Edit: Screw that, maybe a few hundred screens larger.
On the pronounciation... I like to think that this is a cool hack. Cool like the Fonz. The Fonz always said; "Aaay" So therefor the pronounciation is Aaay' ...giss.
And you must say it with your shirt colar flipped and thumbs pointing upward. Sunglasses optional. 8-)

Edit: Thank goodness for Tubetilla. My favorite part of the video (what looked the most awesome) was at/around 1:52. :o
You should've had a close up of Samus in the morphball falling into water with the sound echoing... Then fading out to black. Then have it say/read....
This isn't a help thread. Please use the SMILE help thread. To answer your question, no clue, probably requires ASM.
This is from "The Collaborative English SMILE FAQ -- Revived once more!"
Isn't that what you're doing with Aegis?? Essentially creating the map as you go along with your project?? New areas to explore, a different layout from Super Metroid, different level design?? Unless I'm either misunderstanding you, Acheron86, or I'm misunderstanding Sturmvogel Prime.... Please clarify your answer, especially in relation to Aegis, if you would. It's just a misunderstanding on my part. Thank you. :-s :-) :-s

It's possible to CHANGE current maps in the map editor. You can't make entirely new ones though, there's a limit of seven maps available.

That was hilarious! At first, I was going to ask, 'What does this have to do with this thread?' However, that did hit a little too close to the truth... I must get a life now, in order to disprove this video! Also, Acheron, I'll stick around here until this is ready for release (or unless something comes up, like a car, at 40 mph or faster...)!
I'm thinking a while after Aegis is released, it's probably going to be the base and inspiration of the next generation of SM hacking. I would just love to see Acheron in an awards ceremony.
Just thinking about this game, I'm obsessed. And now that school for me's up soon (half-ironically, the day before my birthday), it's going to be hard to find time to do this.
I suggest getting you homework done first, as it's probably not going to be very much in the early days of school, then playing Aegis into the wee hours of the morning. Sleep is for sissies.
January 30th! I usually do something for youtube on my birthday and for holidays lol. If aegis comes out before my birthday/christmas, probably will have a speed run by the time of either events.
@Dman, that vid is hilarious. I cannot help but wonder what the footage is originally from. I love Acheron portrayed as the ancient wise man though. good stuff.
I can only hope I don't go crazy with this. I can't wait, but my way too expensive college education must come first.
I think you have to change the pointers, or something like that to change the colors of beams, or enemies. I only remember that vaguely, since my knowledge of SMILE is limited to... next to nothing. Huh. I think you can get some help in the SMILE help thread.
