Yay for glorious mapping of Aegis! It'll be a great help when I... *cough* ahem *splutter* I mean, some people, get lost.
Speaking of which, there has not been a fullhack yet where I haven't gotten lost about 10 minutes in. I think that's half the fun
Hmm. I don't think getting "lost" would be a problem in and of itself, as there's no specific place you have to go... but you might just keep wandering and wandering further into the planet, never exactly finding a way back up, hehe.
I'm a big fan of SM's physics/controls, although I've made one or two cool modifications with help from another hacker you all know. I wish I could tell you all but he/she swore me to secrecy. (Maybe.)
Anyway physics/control changes annoy me and I think most hack players here agree that you can't teach us old dogs new tricks, or at least we won't like it.
Pardon me if I misunderstood your post, but if you're satisfied with the original game's physics and controls, why implement something new and possibly TOO innovative? (The physics changes) There's always the possibility that the players will dislike the changes, and may take away from the overall satisfaction of your game.
Anyway, I, like everyone else, am very excited about this hack. That's not going to change no matter how long you decide to work on it. My only worry is that i'll focus my attention elsewhere and miss the release

Hah, the first person to do a 100% speedrun of Aegis faster than me... I'll give 'em a Yoshi doll.

Actually what I was saying was that I'm not going to change the physics or control scheme of the game.

I'm holding you to this. 8-)
Haha! Sure, why not? A little reward for a goofy contest never hurt anyone. I'm not going to announce my score at release though, probably will wait a month or two--like it was mentioned earlier, there shouldn't be incentive to rush through this hack right away... I want people to take their time and enjoy it before doing any competitions.

Ah, my bad. I was under the impression that you WERE changing the physics, as I thought I had read that in an earlier post.

Trust me, I will not be rushing through this hack. The same way I did not rush through Redesign. I'm sure a lot of others feel the same way.
I'm all packed and set to leave for a month-long vacation. I won't have internet most of the time most likely; however, I will be bringing my laptop and I plan on getting some serious work done on Aegis. I will try to post on the forums when I can. Expect a nice update when I return. See you all in a month!
Dang fellas. Where´s all the Aegis love while I´m gone? :(
Having fun reworking the ship area, everything is coming along nicely. Wish I had screenies but I can´t use my lappy for internet. Don´t know when I´ll have internet again actually...
