I did these speedtricks these days:

Industrial site at the beginning. For some reason I always have trouble getting that ghetto jump to work for me. But in the process of trying to I found out I could get stuck or stand rather, a little higher and little to the right of the little thing your suppose to ghetto off. Sense you can stand there, your able to jump again, and easily get onto the box. It does seem to require a little work to get to that spot on the wall where you can stand, but its not to bad. This may of been discovered a long time ago, I only did a little searching to see if i could find someone mentioning it.
I´m very sure that this speedtrick already exist in this post, but I won´t to search in 47 pages, sorry LOL
Well, I am not sure, but I think that it´s possible to do it without keys.
Yes.  It's well-known and old.

that trick is very old. it was one of the first tricks i did back when i started running and SBing the game in 2006.

Well... as I posted in my other topic, entering the room to the Jump Guardian backwards is much faster. So here goes:

Faster Jump Guardian

This is done by going from the room called Portal Site (which is quite obviously the room with the portal), then, from the portal, go to the cavern on the right side of the room, bypassing the bombslot thing on the left (although you'd still prolly want to bomb it just so it's open in the light world). Shoot the energy ball thing at the top of the wall, then morph and do a 3bj-m up the wall. Shoot the next orb, and go into the door.
Once the door's open, start charging and shoot the lightbringer guy with the charge (or if you're lazy shoot him with a missile; on hard mode though, do both). Morph and roll over to the right side, where that sand is; the sand should provide enough extra height for you to be able to 3bj-m and land on the top of that wall, although I admit it took me a lot of tries and really isn't the easiest thing... a lot harder than the earlier 3bj-m. Also, when you're doing the 3bj-m here, make sure you don't start holding forward against the wall until you're about to morph, otherwise Samus will unmorph sideways and won't keep going forward once you're at the top of the ledge, and you won't make it. Once you're up there I advise killing the bladepods on the other side, and getting their pickups... if you didn't shoot a missile before they'll definitely give you energy, if anything, and while you're collecting that energy the next room will load. Go into the next room, and go left, jumping toward the orb and shooting it. From here you can start shooting full charges/missiles at the Jump Guardian's invisible body, which happens to be across the room in front of the statue of the Luminoth, which, if you don't know where that is, is in front of the green Super Missile door on your map. Drain his health, and fight him, and tada, that's much faster than going the normal way.

Also, even though most people prolly already know this, what I do for Chykka:
When it's in adult form, just use seekers on its wings... you can take out all 4 at once I'm pretty sure, since it takes like 2 missiles to take out one wing.

Hm, i tested on Trilogy and it's NOT working. :x
Can anyone test it again?
The quick kill on Jump Guardian has been fixed in Trilogy. It's possible to reach the arena through the back door and shoot at where he should he be, but he takes no damage until the battle cue is triggered and he's visible.

New speed tricks on MP2 Gamecube?? Woah!!!

Anyway, I'll upload the video tomorrow, but when you first enter Temple Assembly Site you can jump onto the highest crate and do a scan dash off either the closed gate or one of the pods and just make it to the door to the right.

Vid tomorrow...

EDIT:  Yeah... My DVR messed up again, so you WON'T see the video.  You can use your imagination.  Just use a "floaty" dash jump on a distant object, delaying holding down the R button until you descend slightly in the dash.

Alright, time for new tricks:

1. Graphical glitch in Main Gyro Chamber. Don't know how it happened, I had been practicing (failing) the Grand Abyss trick and this happened.

2. Ghetto Jump/Scan Dash trick in Biostorage Station, definitely saves time. Takes some practice to get the right ghetto effect and scan dash is standard (for MP2)

3. Temple Assembly Site speed trick at the beginning of the game. Skips having to scan the post and drop the large crate to cross the gap. Floating Scan Dash requires delaying pressing R to get the required floaty effect. Although I failed, you can also ghetto onto the first crate using that small sliver.

4. Easy trick in Command Center. Instead of scanning the post in that small room, just enter the small room to enable it, exit and go into the main room. You can scan dash toward the door while scanning the post. Easy enough, although I messed up, heh.

5. Feeding Pit Ghetto. Easy enough to ghetto using that small incline and jump straight to the door instead of lowering the platform.

I figured a way to get to the energy controller in Sanctuary Fortress without collecting the Screw Attack, nor the Grapple Beam. But I don't have a decent video to make for it since my camera is pretty bad with 240 X 320 pixels, LOL. But here's how I figured it out.

1. Scan Dash or Roll Jump to the Translation door blocking the route to the spiderball guardian.

2. Stand on the corner closest to the wall to the controller. Look along the wall to find a Quadraxis leg and thats where you want to land on. Now look at the opposite side of the room to find another one. Use a tweaked backwards scan dash onto the leg to the left. But not too sharp or you'll hit the wall, LOL.

3. Once your on, get on the VERY top of the leg. The platform is small, but not too small. It's part of the Quadraxis leg so jump up on it, and when your on, look at the pole arch thing in front of you away from the big part of the room and center it to your screen. Turn a 180 and use another tweaked backwards scan dash to the left again, about the same exact kind of tweak you used to get on the leg. Keep the jump held until you made the jump, and now your at the controller! You made it! ZOMG! aiwebs_016

I was messing around in the room for a few hours till I was able to do this. I see that boredom makes glitches happen, LMAO.

I may have to make a vid on how I do it, though I've been to the controller before, LOL.

The funny thing is, I was messing with the same thing (for fun).  I wasn't able to get the final dash, though, but I know what you're talking about and it very much seems like you should be able to make the dash.
That sounds very cool. I never knew there was such an option, LOL. Also, I DID discover a trick for skipping the bridge mechanisms in Torvus Bog at the VERY beginning of the area. You can find the vid at my YT account if you don't mind looking at it. It's a little laggy, but it's self explanatory. It's my second vid made. And appearently it's only blocked in Germany because of my music. D: Also, this video does have lag but it is understandable as I tried my best to get it easier to see where I did it all.

SCATMAN!!! WOO!!! XD

I pulled this off the very first time I began recording, so this is a 1/10,000 chance of me getting it perfect. I did cut the video quite a bit and made it as a nice of a tut as I possible could...

sorry to disappoint you but that trick is old. i remember seeing it in an old run years ago.

atill, nice find considering you found it on your own. it takes effort to find speed tricks.

For some strange reason my reply didn't show up from a week ago...

Anyway, instead of doing the dash from on top of the door, you can do a bsj from right by the ledge and make it to the bridge.

~8 second time saver in Central Mining Station. Get the beam ammo expansion The first trip and before there is a crate blocking the tunnel. The first ghetto jump isn't very hard to do consistently.  The second one will take a little more practice..

Tried it some more, and I've gotten it a few times, but I fail to see how I managed it those times... Found an alternate (likely slower) way to get up to the expansion, though:

This is a lot easier than the ghetto for me. Also, I think saving 8 seconds is somewhat exaggerated.

My rough estimate was taking into account the time it takes to get from the other side, shoot the block, then jump or dash to the top of the platform with the slanted wall.

Your method may only be slightly slower, but you can set it up more quickly.  So, assuming the pirates don't hinder the 3bsj setup, it may be preferable to use your method.

When you do it later on, you cross the room while you're doing all of that, so you end up by the door you're leaving through after you get the expansion. When you do it early, you end up on the side you started on.

Edit: Okay, turns out you can actually do this before you set the initial pirates off. This gets rid of my main concern (having to kill the pirates before doing the trick and having to roll all the way to the second pirate trigger afterward), so...

Small trick that's useful in a 100% run. I don't think it's been found before...

Edit: Been looking through old posts in this thread and found this:

Quote from silent (((((echo))))):
Here is a 100% speed trick in sanctuary entrance. After destroying the background with the turret, you can reach the kinectic orb cannon ledge for the power bomb expansion much faster with a well-placed screw-attack cancel.

It saves 10 secs.

Here is the vid : http://zeromission.co.uk/silent_echo/sanctuary_entrance_pb_speedtrick.avi

The previous and slower method was this one : http://zeromission.co.uk/silent_echo/sanctuary_entrance_pb_oldmethod.avi

Anyone know how to do this (or better yet, have a copy of this video)? Seems really really unlikely, since this is over 4 years old, but I guess I should at least try. :\

I run this here hotel of an evening
Quote from Main Page:
"Single bomb and 3bj are the only ones compatible with this move, so use one according to the height needed."

i've gotten to the fake portal in the seeker room using a bsj from a double O.O

probably the bomb height made that happen. did you place the second bomb a bit low?
I run this here hotel of an evening
possibly. it's happened a few times and i don't normally try to set the top bomb low

oops, i wasn't going from a double, i was going from a 1.5 bomb jump. heh, damn brain of stupidocity. so yeah, lower top bomb
rocks, locks, and invisible blocks
useing the fucked up L trick
hold L and take out the controler then put it back in well still holding L
you can get through bioenergy production faster by doing this: as the cut seen starts to show the scan point do the L trick and then run up to the scan point bring it back to the platform closes to the door (holdong L the whole time) then pause the game take the controler out then put it back in with out holding anything unpause and you scan then you get up with out lowering anything and its faster and stuffs

WINNING

Yeah, so... This is so incredibly obvious. Has no one seriously thought of doing this before? >_>
