Here's an any% route test I did

1.  ILS, e-tank in TAS, pb expansion, go to GFMC compound, collect missile launcher, enter sanctuary to open the gates, leave sanctuary and go back to TAS and wallcrawl past the violet gate, enter Agon, get e-tank, save
2.  wallcrawl to dark beam
3.  light beam, amber transaltor, enter sanctuary
4.  e-tank, Screw attack
5.  Sanctuary energy wallcrawl
6.  Return energy, go to Transit station(from watch station acess) and use the sw there to wallcrawl past the dark visor/seeker gate, enter Temple Grounds, save before light suit
7.  Light suit, violet, seekers, enter Torvus from the front, save
8.  Supers, emerald, enter lower torvus

The rest of the route would be the same as the current any% route.  However, after collecting the first temple grounds sky temple key,you can now go through gfmc compound to reach the second temple grounds sky temple key.  I'm not sure if this would be faster though.

I had a 40 minute save after segment 8.  However, a ton of time can be saved if I tried to optimize it.  Also, I used that costly first Sanctuary save three times.  Only if there was a way to warp to torvus with this route.  A ton of time could be saved.  So, what do you guys think? Is is worth it to do further testing?

Edit:  1.  It might be worth it to test wallcrawling past the dark visor/seeker gate by going through mingyro chamber instead of transit station.

2.  IIRC Miles said something about how torvus could appear on the map if you leave the hint system on??
rocks, locks, and invisible blocks
You can wallcrawl through all of Sanctuary without opening up the gates, that seems like a really long and pointless detour.
I guess I should test out not opening the gates, but it makes the wallcrawl a giant pain in the ass.  To wallcrawl past Sanctuary entrance backwards would require going all the way to the elevator room.  With the gates open, the wallcrawl from transit station to the room before sanctuary entrance costs only 40 seconds.

MP2 also a bit MP1 speedrunning

well, i havent time it yet, but its probably faster then taking the elevator?
you can get onto that platform with a double bombjump.
but, yeah its VERY difficult....
as i said i wanted to do a segmented run but.. ugh that trick is like 5 minutes into the segment or so.. and god that segment is horrendous enough...

Edit: wait, what happens if you bomb that thing during the pirate fight? >_>
Edit²: it turns out that the thing you wanna bomb at the end is indestructable when you didnt activate the bombslot for some reason.
also i think the trick is slower since you cannot skip the pirate fight so yeah. forget about it.

(i had music in the background cause my grabber sound broke, ill get a new capture card at monday though...)

This boost is extremely precise. You basically very slightly hold left/right depending on which side you are and right after you boost, you hold up as quickly as you can, resulting into a landing onto the middle platform if done correctly. normally, you would screw attack on it, i timed it, i think it saves something between 3-4 secs if done correctly, but again its extremely difficult to rush. Maybe i'll do a comparison video of it later.
Fuck Item Loss Skip, this is the best thing to happen to echoes. (Ok that might be a lie, maybe)
that's some serious shit right there

How to prevent Workers Path crashing aka. Wallcrwling to Spider Guardian in 100% without SA or Cobalt Translator

what may be unclear from just watching the video:
- You can only jump at the edges of the roof of the "Entrance" to Spider Guardian
- You can stand on the middle part of the Pipe only !
- Watch the Radar, it shows the Diligence Class Drone in Dynamo Access, when it disappears, the room is unloaded and Workers Path will load
- I have not found a good way to clip inbounds at the end. Terminal falling is pretty easy but kinda slow if you don't have Screw Attack

You could also yolo this and try to land on the pipe, but I wouldn't recommend it in a SS run

sequence breaking ftw!
has any one tried beating dark samus 2 without the dark visor

not to hard once you get the hang of it just aim at her landing spot after she is done firing her super missile when invis

and just like dark samus one she can take 1 -2 missiles before she starts to block them flawlessly

i bombed the sand thingies during the pirate fight

the cutscene wont play regardless if you activated the bomb slot and you will have to unload the room (thank goodness the room resets)
Yes, people have fought DS2 with dark visor, which doesn't really matter for any speedrun routes. This bump is completely unnecessary

skriata, could you please think your posts through a little more or do a little research before posting in the future? You seem to be making a lot of posts that contribute little-to-nothing to the conversation as well as posting a lot of very commonly well known things as if they're earth-shattering discoveries.
my umbrella goes directly to Bankai
hey guys, i think i made the biggest discovery ever recorded in a metroid game.

if you unmorph after a bomb jump and get an instant unmorph, you can jump in the air.
Guys, I found this crazy glitch the other day.

You know how, in Prime 1, when you hold R and walk off a ledge you can't do anything and just fall forever and hate aether jumping and hate your life and want to eat ice cream?

Well, that doesn't happen in my copy of Prime 2.

I think it's broken or something. When will Nintendo release a patch?
Quote from RaphaelRobo:
hold R and walk off a ledge

what
Yeah, you know how in Prime 1 you try to aether jump and miss it because you're a scrub and keep falling forever and ever until you stop falling?
You can't hold r and walk at the same time.
YOU can't hold r and walk at the same time.

If you bomb the last Amorbis in phase 2 or 3 while another is still doing its dying animation, the phase doesn't end properly. Doing this at the end of the second phase means there's only two Amorbises in phase 3, which probably saves some time; it's offset by there not being a cutscene though.

If you do this in phase 3, then the fight just never ends and you're stuck. So don't do that.

(How has no one found this before, seriously)

This "bomb slot" is activated by touching a trigger, so the only thing laying a bomb does is that it gets you out of it.
rocks, locks, and invisible blocks
that's interesting. I wonder if any other slots work like this... (I imagine ones without a cutscene?)

Likely faster to get MBI in Any% so you can insta-kill Chykka Adult.

I was wondering last night about the possibility of doing this before screw attack, using the gyro skip SW, and going back in bounds in sentinel's path on the way to screw attack.
Worth looking into?

so here's how the Wallcrawl would look. Didn't put much effort in optimizing the movement though.
