Am I being incredibly stupid, or is this not a speed trick at all? Don't you HAVE to Space Boost to even get out of that area after killing Nightmare? The speed booster blocks don't come down far enough to do it any other way! Therefore there isn't any other way to do it (without being clever and using a pointless Shinespark)! Or is there?

Anyway, I believe you're "supposed" to do exactly that: be clever and use a normal Shinespark from the platform up on the left. I don't think this speed trick was unintended, though.

I think it's possible to break through with just a single spin jump while boosting, going for the space jump and shooting the door is a bit faster than that.

Yes, but the spaceboosting saves a bit of time by going into the next room.

Also, you mean "leaving ARC"

Indeed, I misspelt it, sorry! I was thinking of the wrong end of the secret passage :-)

Ah, I see what you mean now. Most people (including me) would only jump once to get through the barrier, but the actual trick is to space jump more than once, to keep the speed going, isn't it? I obviously wasn't paying attention when I watched the video. Oops!

EDIT: Regarding what you're actually supposed to do, I don't think Shinesparking comes into it, because the average player who doesn't know what a Shinespark is would get stuck there... I think taking a running jump through the blocks is the actual intended way...
