I don't keep up with any DS3 stuff. Is the jp PS4 version going to have english text, or is the Xbone having it some strange coincidence related to the "leak"?
Only Xbone.

I have no idea what leak you're talking about. I assume Microsoft paid From to include English text in their jp version to get some people to buy their console lol.
Just the "accidental" early release that happened. I don't even know if it was only on Xbone. But it seems strange that they don't just put/patch every available language in every version, especially if it's regionfree. Probably a very european perspective.
There's money involved in patching games.

Early release? The game was supposed to be out earlier in japan. If it's already available in some stores... that's been a thing forever. Sometimes you can get a game early if a store is willing to sell it before street date.
Sure but why even have different versions if it's regionfree. I'm not arguing technicalities. It wasn't supposed to be available in the west.
Because there's FROM publishing the game in Japan, wanting tov make money, BAMCO US wanting to make money and BAMCO EU wanting to make money...

It may be legally impossible for a company to properly sell a product in a different country w/o having a daughter company over there.
What does that have to do with having a universal version?
There could only be 1 publisher if you want there to be only one version that's globally the same
No idea why that would be the case but I'll take your word for it >_>

I'm having way more trouble with the dragon than I did with the witch queen.  I can last in the fight for over 10 minutes, but then I run out of estus having only hit him 0-2 times.  The problem I'm having is that he's always too far away.  He lands so far away that if I run to him it uses all my stamina, so when I reach him I can't attack, or he takes off the second I reach him and I just end up using my stamina to run to him again, repeat.  It's endless.

I've tried waiting for him to come to me, but he never really does unless I'm cornered.

Dang I wasted nearly all of my lightning consumables before reading on the wiki that he has incredibly high lightning resistance.  I thought dragons were weak to lightning in souls.  Maybe they just did that to fuck with you.

Wow, three of the wikis state that he's has extremely high lightning resistance, then RECOMMEND that you use lightning.  That makes absolutely no sense.
One shall stand, one shall ball.
For me what works against him is keeping at moderate distance to try an bait out his charge or fire breath. Roll back away from his charge then close for a quick swing before backing off again to avoid his counter. If he breathes fire run in and take a couple swings while he's in the animation before again backing away.
One shall stand, one shall ball.
He'll spend a lot of time in the air and it can be super annoying but as long as you keep baiting out those two attacks he's not bad.

Thanks.  I'm getting better at it but I think the wikis are giving advice before some kind of patch on the game?  They said to get under him but touching him does massive damage, and there's no way to get under without touching him.  They also warn that he has extremely strong lightning resistance, but then tell you to use lightning.  Kind of terrible advice either way.

Right now I'm trying to stay very close to him which makes seeing his next attack very hard, but if he gets too far away from me then it begins the pattern of me never being able to get close to him again, and I can't get out of that pattern once it starts. His head is very hard to hit because not only is it the only part of his body that you can't target, but he moves it upward faster than I can move my weapon, so I'm trying to focus on the legs.  Finding the right distance is tough.  Too far away and my weapon doesn't make contact, closer and he barely moves and I take major damage.  I'm using a spear.
I've gotten good at dodging his attacks now, but I'm having a real hard time getting an opportunity to attack.  When I go for legs, he takes flight the instant I press R.  If I go for the head, he lifts it and my attack hits nothing but air.  He just doesn't sit still for long enough for me to get a hit in.
He's dead. All I had to do was switch weapons.  Spear is crap against him.  Thrusts are way too low.
Does anyone know what the message on the screen says after he dies?  I was in the menu trying to see what the crown does and I only got to see it for one second.  I saw the word 'linger' but that's it.

ugh I really don't like the next area so far.  Every death is an instant death and most have no warning.

This game sucks.  It's not fair. (was trolling, trying to get someone to answer)

Doesn't say anything important iirc. Just suggests the crown is significant or something. *shrug*
hmm.
Right now I have four soul fragments in brumes tower.
One shall stand, one shall ball.
Don't be too free with those Smelter Wedges. You will eventually have enough to take out every statue later but that first set ideally will last you to the boss. Just don't use one if you think you don't really need to just yet.

What did you mean by next area? Also you missed an area in the first DLC. Also for the future, Sinh can't hit you if you stand between his hindlegs.

Is the area that I missed something I can find if I just go back and look harder?  Or is there some cryptic crap going on that I would probably never figure out?

next area = Brume Tower
It's as obvious as it could be. You probably picked up a key that you never used or at least found a door that was locked at the beginning of the sanctum.

What do you mean by instant deaths in Brume Tower?
