Exactly the same as it works for you. If you don't build up enough and quicker than it deteriorates, it does nothing.
I've stabbed some enemies with the poison stinger 4, maybe 5 times and they weren't poisoned. I've thrown a bunch of poison daggers, nothing.  Maybe I'm not trying it on the right enemies.
One shall stand, one shall ball.
Some enemies are immune, yeah, I assume the enemies in the Sunken King DLC are.
Poison arrows are for cheesing so poison in melee defeats that purpose, and for general purposes it's just way too slow and doesn't make up for the direct damage loss.
Is there any way to push the buttons on the floor in shulva city area? I found two small rooms with big squares on the floor with small square buttons on the floor, but can't figure out how to push the buttons. There's an identical button on the wall in the sanctum that I was able to push by thrusting.  Also, I have to be missing a bonfire somewhere.  There's nowhere else I can go in shulva so I keep going deeper and deeper into the sanctum but not finding a bonfire anywhere.  I've lost tons of souls.
found bonfire in sanctum :)

I can't figure out the room with the crystal lizards.  They sometimes come down in the middle of a fight, then I don't get any of course.  And the times when I kill all the enemies in the room before they come, they only come down when I'm on the opposite side of the stone door - again no way to get them.  If I could figure out what makes them come down, I'd be golden.  It seems to be random.

edit: nvm I killed them all.  fukkrs

Bueller?
One shall stand, one shall ball.
It's hard to give tips on the DLC areas cause they're very tightly packed mazes and I lose track of where anything is basically as soon as I pass it. lol

You seem to be progressing well, though!
I like the magnetic whip sword thingy, but I just maxed my zweihander and maxed my drakeblood sword so it's on.
Yeah I'm making it through, slowly.  I just realized that you can hit those glowing pedestals in the shulva area.  I was making all kinds of crazy jumps to get things lol.

I kind of wish the game was going faster for me.  I want to be done.  I think it has more to do with having several games waiting for me than it does with any feelings about DS2.

I approve of both of those weapons!
yeah drakeblood sword is great - magic and lightning damage.  My drangleic sword takes out the caped guys in this area better though. I just found their armor and loving it.

I took the time to do some jumps to check out the platforms on the opposite side of this area, found some cool stuff and a couple of totally empty, pointless platforms that I had to warp from.  Guess there's nothing left to do but check out the pot smoke at the bottom of the room.  *shiver*
omg summoning drag queen from hell

Have fun with Elana!
Dark Souls II is huge, especially with all the DLC. That's why I grew sick of SOTFS very quickly compared to vanilla.

Dark Souls III is awesome. All the areas I've been to lately are 10/10.
Savor every game as much as possible. Don't look forward to the next game, "look forward" to when you're done with DS3 and have to wait years for the next one like we all do. Take as long as possible to reach that point, there will still be plenty of waiting left to do. Space Souls for 2018!
Yeah I guess I should savor it more.  I really want to replay DS1, and maybe even demons souls, but I can't until I'm done with bloodborne and DS3. It's all too much.

I killed that queen.  I ended up summoning a phantom.  Have to stop before the next area and sit in an auto sales office for 2 hours. I need a tee shirt that says 'I'd rather be playing souls'
I just read that japanese PS4 games don't require PS+ for online multiplayer.

That's gonna save me a lot of money. Thanks japan.
That's cool.  IDK why I'm still paying for mine if I'm not using it.
Wonder if that holds only true for japanese release versions of japan-developed games or for western releases of jap games too...
You mean you can play jp versions on western consoles with free online? Do they have english text?
One thing I wish you could do on souls is examine yourself and your items while in the menu, like you can in the prime games.  Some of the equipment looks great and I'd love to look closer.  I hope you can do that in DS3.
Uh, yeah. PS4 and Xbone are region free.

Whether they have english text depends. Usually not. but Dark Souls III JP on Xbone has engish text for strange reasons.
I wasn't referring to regionlocks, I was wondering if it works without setting the console to jp or anything like that.
Sure. If it's a disc you just need to put that in, for digital games you need a JP account do purchase stuff. There's online tutorials that explain how to. It's easy and you can play the games purchased on your Jp account with your western main account.
