It is possible to enter the wrecked ship for the first time om the right side. I dont know if it has been discovered yet. This is only a cool trick, dont do this on a speedrun. In the right area, there is no water which makes me wonder one thing,

How Does the water appear after you beat the boss of the wrecked ship?

Oh yeah, and to add to the mystery, when I went to the big room(Where you find the Energy tank)The energy tank wasn't there. The Chozo statue had nothing in its hands.

The water doesn't appear until Wrecked Ship is powered up after you defeat Phantoon. Defeating Phantoon triggers a whole shit load of stuff in Wrecked Ship, and since the programmers probably didn't expect people to come in the wrong way, they (for some reason) decided to make the water and the items appear when everything else is turned on.

That should explain the spiked platforms not being in that one room.
