meant smops was talking purely from his own perspective, while i was offering a different, probably more common one if marketing research numbers are to be believed.

Or it could just be that the general public are mostly idiots who think that seeing as iPods get all the hype and publicity they must be the best thing in the world, when really there may be a better option for them out there.

No, Apple has the best windowing system in the world (Windows is shit and X is shittier). The best kernel is a weird tossup between FreeBSD 6.0 and Linux 2.6. As for the best userland... I'm biased in that regard so I won't speak :P.

Yeah, the cloud is slowly spreading over the sky above my house. It's noticeably getting darker and darker. Earlier, one side of the sky was white, and the other side was like charcoal grey.

considering the topic, several posts above, was various mp3 players, what do you people suggest ? I was told by more than one person that the iPod was more than a nuescence than it was worth, but I dont really know what I'd like to get..
I guess what Im trying to say is, What do you reccomend? I like how the iPod is structured, the menu system is alright, but I heard that it really just is a pain.
What do people have and what is working ?
