Mister ...
Eh, were probably gonna get the new one today, but my parents are fighting over the computer and stuff, so I won't hold my breath.

*Sigh* And were not gonna be getting a new desk either, but instead were gonna just use the old crappy one *sigh, again*
Wouldn't be a problem if the keyboard try wasn't falling off all the time.

Isn't there something you can do about that?
I hate keyboard trays.  For the most part, they're rickety, and won't hold up to the typing I do, but more than that, desks that come with them don't give you enough room on the surface to place your keyboard if you don't use the tray.  Meh, desks are too small too.  Everyone wants consolidation, but it's nice to have room next to your workspace.  I've been meaning to get a new desk for some time now, but nothing seems to fit the bill: 10' (L) x 3' (D) x 30" (H), plus a smaller one to form an L at the end so work can be done in the corner.  At this point, I'm actually investigating building my own desk out of…something.  Probably MDF with some sort of hard coating to prevent chipping and water damage.  Getting the computer away from the window is a huge priority here, and my current desk doesn't allow for that.  I'd also like to dream of a small pneumatic lift to have the tower come out from under the desk, but this is still a dream.  I suppose there is a cheaper alternative to this $500+ idea, but I still like it…
Mister ...
I am currently messing around on my new computer.

Gawd, it is sooooooooooooo awesome.  But, I'm sure the Joy will die out in a couple of days.  As it always does.

Currently installing games, but don't have enough time to play them tonight.  Ohwell.  There's always tomorrow!
Yay you got a new computer. I feel happy for you!
I am currently saddened.

Two and three quarters ish years ago, I moved to Massachusetts and was an emotional wreck from leaving friends behind again (I was in Missouri-halfway across the country for those not up to date), and a series of events led me to join the drama program at school. I found friends and such, and we had two great directors (one was technically the assistant, but that distinction hardly existed). However, just a few days ago, we finished what would be the directors' last plays with us, as one was retiring and another was moving on with life. I'm very sad as I and everyone else very much liked them, and so we will miss them very much. And while a new person(s) will likely be taking over next year, it just won't be the same anymore. :(

Change happens.  Everything is transient (lol Luke).  The best you can do is embrace the future and appreciate what you had.

I know exactly what you mean, being involved in drama at school myself, but, trust me, in a few years, you won't even think much about it anymore.
don't underestimate the abilities of the new director.

I was saddened when my old band director moved to Carrolton. (where a user here lives if I am not mistaken) We got a new one, but I still miss the pwnage director. It has been a whole year.

View what happened in my school!

We had an AC line burst a few days ago, and coolant spilled out all over the floor.  Right before we evacuated, some people took pics with their cell phones.  Took them two days to clean it up!

Funniest part: it happened once before, about 15 years ago.  Found out from a woman from my church who used to be a librarian there.

Haha, I think that's every high schooler's dream.
Green slime all over the floor?  Pretty much!
Mister ...
Geeze, I wish my school had something like that happen to me.  After all, the school's like 15 years old, and the only thing that's really happened was an actual fire some dumbass started by smoking a cigarette in the bathroom, and threw it in the trashbin, which had nothing but paper towels in it.  Everyone was evacuated for about 10-15 minutes.

But AC Coolant?  Kick ass!  I wish I was there.  I'd be laughing my friggin ass off at that.  What happened? A pipe or something break? (Obviously, but still)
looks like a scene from Buffy the Vampire Slayer ...
You think it looks like that from just the picture.  Trust me, it DID look like a scene from a cheap horror movie.

Two years ago in...probably around September...we had a similar problem and evacuation.  The power flickered for about ten seconds during first period (teacher: "woo00OOO00oo"), then some went off, some back on, and the were flickering.  At the end of the period, we got the announcement that one of the transformers had blown out on the road, and that we were running at 1/3 power.  All unnecessary electronic devices were to be turned off, including (and I quote the technologically impaired office assistant) "computers that are hardwired to the wall."  Second period, we went down to the basement (where my second period class is  Rolling Eyes ) and found that the room had no power, so we went into the room next door instead.  The day progressed until sixth period where we got the very soft announcement we are evacuating the building, and will probably be back in about fifteen minutes.  When we ring the bell, please proceed to the nearest exit..  Then they rang the bell (which is an electronic "bing, bing, bing", but it came out as "bing, bing, *cracklecrackle* bing, bing"  instead.  After about an hour of waiting on the track, my friend and I heard a teacher say something indistinct, then everybody in the stands simultaniously jumped in the air and yelled "YES!"  I (stupidly) asked "do you think we're going back in the building?"  friend: "you kidding?"

So we all went home.

Due to the fact that there are virtually no hallways at my school I doubt something like a coolant leak would make the administration force everybody to evacuate.

The funniest story we heard was of the people in the foreign language wing.  They saw the coolant kind of creeping towards the door, so they closed it and put towels (where these came from, I will never know) against the bottom.  The coolant kept coming through, so they stood on chairs and made a path of them to the back door to get out.  I saw these people running into another door on my way to the computer lab, and they were the ones who turned me back.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that unless you have waterproof seals around all of your interior doors, you'd still have to evacuate.

Even if it didn't make it around the whole school, it's still toxic!
Mister ...
My auto-shop teacher allowed my Beggining auto class to try a bit of anitfreeze.  He said that it's only seriously toxic in big amounts.  We just basically dabbed our finger in the coolant, and then licked the finger.

About half the class was out the next day and school was cancelled because 40% of the student body was out.  Ok, so I wish, but it would still make a cool story.

But yeah, Most we've ever had happen was an Earthquake, back in 2001, the BIG 6.8 QUAKE OF FEBRUARY 2001 IN WESTERN WASHNGTON or whatever.  Heard lots of stories back then.  Was in the 5th grade, sitting in a portable.  Wasn't that great.  Anyone ever hear of that years ago?  Just wondering how Popular Washington state is.
Felt that one in California. :P

There was an error in the alarm system in our school once, and we all evacuated for about an hour, the fire trucks came, no fire, and then we all went back in. They tried to, but failed in fixing it. It went off again. The same happened. I rofled. But, however, I was hoping on a burned down school. Then they said to disregard all following alarms.
The only serious thing to happen in my school is that a panel on the elevator (for disabled kids) burned out and started smoking. I thought it was a cafeteria problem. That crap is FLAMMABLE.
My school has lots of unnecessary evacuations because of false fire alarms.  Most of which are caused by people microwaving popcorn.  I seem to have bad luck with false fire alarms in general, actually.  At summer camp things that take place in schools, there's almost always at least one accidental fire alarm.  It's probably life making up for the lack of fire drills at my elementary school.  Throughout seven years at that school, there were only like three or four fire drills.
Lucky kraid. You get to miss lessons and stuff.
