I played as both, X first, in X4. There's a fair enough balance between the two so that each one is enjoyable. Zero certainly has an easier time on final Sigma, though.

i haven't finished the mavericks in x4 yet with x (mostly laziness, since i have found most of them, especially dragoon, and naked split mushroom easier with x) but i can certainly see where each character seems to be better, so far.  repliforce general in particular was a ridiculous pain with zero for me.  i actually heard (from ocremix though, they're a bunch of pansy rpgers, hahahaha ;-) ) that the x4 sigma was harder with zero, but...i have no idea, really.  i can't beat him without resorting to praying for the wind blow attack.

I'm kinda of confused by your three words to Nate though. I stopped at X5 because it sucked ass, and I had heard that the series just kept getting worse near the end, and the combination of the two led me to belive that that would apply to me as well. So I've never played X6. Still, half the reason I thought X5 sucked so bad is that Zero was just so utterly freaking brokenly good. Since when the hell did I beat Mavericks first try? It went far into ridiculous territory. If you thought Zero sucked in X5, I'd hate to see what he's like in X6...

x5 is retarded.  the game suddenly gets very difficult at sigma because he can kill you in five hits and his collision is totally bizarre (gogo his running echoes on the ground).  other than that, the mavericks are totally pathetic, and the only boss weaknesses that are worth using are squid's, duff's (which is the c-saber) and rosered's.  yes, zero is very powerful in x5.  but so is x (i reccommend watching the pure speed run...even if it's actually not sixteen minutes long).

basically what i meant by "zero doesn't suck" is "zero is fun to play as."  he's been powered up by giving him double jump and air dash right off, but weakened because you have to find and beat him in battle to unlock him, three of his techniques are really bad (but funny anyway.  sensuizan is the mega man weapon that you're most likely to kill yourself with, and the hyoroga cannot be used on the boss it's weak against XD), and i am pretty sure his saber slashes more slowly.

there's actually a sort of side-quest in this game where you rescue reploids (like the ones that show up on a couple of stages in x5).  they give you extra lives or tanks or parts and also heal you.  unfortunately, there's the part about rescuing them...if you wait too long, a nightmare will attach to them and they'll become evil and try and shoot you, and you'll lose whatever they had.  after you get rekkoha, at least, zero is a lot better at rescuing them since his mobility is so much better than x's.  after you get blade armor (which is 99% necessary for the completion of the game...one boss took me >80 tries with zero) then it swaps again, and x can actually get to more places than zero.

the game does have a ridiculously cheapass ceiling crush stage though, but i don't find it any worse than the bike levels from 4 and 5.  main thing is, i think zero is more fun to play in x6 and some of the levels actually let him take advantage of using a sword.  the reploid rescue stuff isn't perfectly executed but the parts system is enough fun to justify the collection portions.  plus, the game isn't ridiculously easy (though the continue system is the same as x5, which is "too easy" most of the time but is a good thing when you make it to the second to last stage)...three mavericks are way too easy (better than seven way too easy mavericks though) but there are three bosses who, in my opinion, match the three hard x4 bosses (dragoon, repliforce general, and final sigma, all with zero, if you want to laugh at me again haha) in terms of pure evil.

i certainly don't think i can call x6 the "best" mega man (especially seeing as i've only played like...eight of them...haha, "only eight."  that's more than the number of metroids or zeldas i've played.) but it's the one that i've enjoyed the most so far.  in any case, i reccommend you try it.  /me fails at mm2 weaknesses.

edit again: x6's music is like half rawk and all badass.
I have a jap ROM of MM9. I like the boss music on it.
Mister ...
Did you ever finish MM9?

CapCom needs a game that ties the ends between MegaMan and MegaMan X, Kinda like Nintendo needs a book or movie based off of Samus' Childhood.

Also, I'm getting a new computer soon, like this weekend soon ('bout time too).  Any ideas on what I should get for games?  I currently have, or plan on getting:
Halo, CounterStrike, Serious Sam II, Sid Mier's Pirates, The Sims 2, and maybe World Of Warcraft, also maybe Unreal Tournament.
Any other games that I should get?
in the name of justice!
haha, yeah!  go play wow!

wow, i think i disagree with every part of that sentence, hahaha.  i like samus being mysterious, personally.  and i'd assume that whatever they'd do for mega man would be a lot like zero's ending in x6 (they put him in stasis, but apparently that part was un-canoned because he still comes back again for 7 and 8)

is this rockman 9 you speak of rockman and forte or something hacht?  rnf has pretty good boss music and the opening stage track is awesome.  it's also ridiculously hard starting after you reach dynamo man.
God, dont get WoW. Its $180 to play a year and it sucks. I hate games where how long you have been playing directly determines how good you are. Go get Half Life 2 and Install Counter Strike Source.
Mister ...
I don't need the disk to play CounterStirke, do I?

Is CounterStrike different from CounterStrike Source?

And, If anyone else plays Halo on the PC, look for me in the BBS Mod Power Gulch levels, look for nn12000.

basically, if there's an I-Net game, that I play, Look for nn12000

And I was thinking about avoiding WoW, because you have to play the monthly fee.  Seems kinda stupid to pay for a game you bought.  Might do Maple Story though... nah, don't like the idea of downloading games off of the internet.
Counter Strike (Currently in 1.6) Uses the Original Half Life engine.

Source uses Half Life 2's engine, therefore it has better graphics.

Just get Half Life 2, its a solid game without CS:S anyway.

Except for the fact there's a decent chance his computer may not run it.  If your PC can run HL2, get it.  Get it now.  NOW.

At least maple story is free. unless you want all the useless cash shop items that are only for looks

Psh, HL2's hardly ever creepy.  Minerva's far worse than HL2 ever is, as well as being a properly awesome mod.

Eh, but I use cheats too at times.  Only way to beat some games.

We Don't Go to Ravenholm... seemed plenty creepy to me.  Or is that an exception to the general rule?

Ravenholm was never really creepy.  The very first time, when you first hear the howls, it's kind of chilling, but not incredibly so.  The only bits I got scared of was on the rooftop getting cornered by fast zombies, and that was only because I was close to death and there were like 5 of them.  >_>

I found Highway 17 more creepy; empty houses with poison zombies and headcrabs in freak me out.
Time bomb set get out fast!
There is no Mega Man 9.  Mega Man & Bass (Rockman & Forte) is a gaiden -- a sidestory, not part of the main series.  Like any good MMHP fan, I'm very insistent on this point.  (According to Wikipedia, the game code refers to it as Mega Man 8.5, sorta like the EXE 4.5 game they only have in Japan so far.)

I'm with Shark on the difficulty of MM&B, though.  It took me ages to get past Burner Man, let alone Dynamo Man.  And King?  Fuhgeddabowdit.

I disagree about Zero being easy in X5.  Between his lack of armour and his slowness, he's even with X at best.  Not that I don't use him -- it would be a waste not to play as both characters.  But I take X on any mission I'm worried about.  (Honestly, after playing the Zero games, I'm almost embarrassed for Zero's previous, more X-like incarnation.  He looks better, but he's blocky and sluggish compared to the graceful GBA Zero.)

"Naked Split Mushroom"?

Shine Spark: re: X4 Final Sigma, the main thing is that X doesn't have a double jump, so he can't just jump up and hit Sigma's head when he's in the form he is when you go in the room; he actually has to use the platforms and stuff, and since his weakness is Soul Body (sp?) you actually have to get close-ish to him too. Plus you pretty much can't hit him at all during "The End".

true, but it's what i would take first as "mega man 9" if somebody else is talking about it.

hahaha, i gave up at perfect king.  i later found out that one of the parts lets you jump higher (i was playing an untranslated snes version), but still, just no way.

x5 is just plain too easy, with either character.  "extreme" is kinda funny, but it's pointless because of the continue system.

i haven't played the mmz games yet...

doing split mushroom first (without raijingeki) to get the double jump as soon as possible.  or with x, because "soul body" is funny.

haha, yoshi, forgot about the gun form because he is so easy and fast with zero.

Ok, I tried to install my new copy of Halo onto my old computer, as I'm desperate for some online action, and I really don't want to wait til tomorrow for the new computer.

My Computer sucks soo bad, that it's too slow to open Halo. I can't do gunship on this piece o' crap.  But that's why I"m looking forward to getting the new computer.  I'm gonna reset this baby to Factory settings, install very little, and then hope it'll work.  I plan on talking to Dave, my Youth leader about CPU upgrades, but I'm sure that I don't have enough cash to pay him for the stuff, sadly. Ohwell, I'd love to get this Computer seriously upgraded.  Would make my life sooo much better.

It's really not a bad computer, but because of the lack of upgrades, we really can't to much.  So, it's kinda mostly our fault.

Any Ideas of where I can get Graphics/video/sound cards for cheap?  Some decent, not really nice, but not crappy either cards?

Oh, and another thing,  I have Qwest DSL.  Would DSL cause online Multiplayers to lag at all?  Would it be a bit slow, or could I adjust it so it'd run smoothly?

What the hell does that have to do with anything?

nn:  Graphics and video cards are the same things, and I highly doubt you need a sound card unless you wanna run a funky 7.1 system.  The main components you'll be wanting will be your processor, your video card, your RAM, and to lesser extent your motherboard.  Can you go Start -> Run and run "dxdiag" so I can see what your current specs are?

I don't know American e-tailors too well, but general opinion seems to be that Newegg is one of the best.

nn: i have qwest dsl.  as long as you don't have to share the connection with a download hog, it seems to be okay for online gaming (i really don't play that much though).  also, my service dies for a couple days every month or two for no reason, so you might want to watch out for that.

nate: once again, given that mega man 9 doesn't exist, i assume that people who are trying to talk about it mean something that does exist, just not under that name, rather than something that doesn't exist.
It was to give him something to do until his new computer arrives, Izo.
