They work in Super, although I'm not sure they're as lethal to Metroids in Super as in Prime and Echoes.

Multiple power bombs will eventually destroy metroids in Redesign, not sure about the original ROM because I haven't tried it.  But generally power bombs aren't known to be effective against metroids, or they're not regarded as such anyways.  Everyone just freezes and uses missiles.

Ah, I forgot about Prime, probably because it is not noted for metroids really at all.  Luring several fission metroids to your vicinity and laying a PB is most effective.
Power Bombs in this game can kill the Seeker Creatures in the Epilogue with one hit. Thats actually pretty impressive.

seeker what?

my umbrella goes directly to Bankai
the guy who gives you the seeker missile.

ahhh
wait...you can't fight that guys after getting the PB O.o
No, you can. Two more appear in the final area, that you need Power Bombs to access.
Yup. Before you fight Phantoon you fight two of the Rhedogians (name of the creature with the Seeker Missiles). Its easy with Power Bombs. (Thank god)

ah, yes

but it's even faster with screw attack...

i passed that entire corridor screw-attacking the enemies...
I don't think you can kill it with screw attack. <_<
Well, my thought was if you had Power Bombs
for Sector Zero to face those Metroids, you could use Power Bombs to defeat them.  But then I remembered that Sector Zero is apparently brittle so a single Power Bomb would probably cause Sector Zero to detach and go BOOM!
So it's probably a moot point.
Oh, that makes sense.
I was thinking that since TECHNICALLY, unless they removed it when the GF "polished up" her suit, she should still have the hyper beam, and that's what she used to kill the Metroids, but instead they just decided to just have them blow up instead.
ANKOKU
Technically she should also have Wave, Ice, and Plasma beams in Prime 2, and there's no explaining away that portion.
Maybe when she lost them she never recovered them.  That may be why she didnt have them in Prime 3, either.
But the point in Other M is that she already HAS all the weapons, she just cant use them until Adam says so.
She had to sell them to make money, and used the Plasma Beam for a fireplace.  Remember, Miyamoto said that Samus doesn't get paid for her contracts.
One shall stand, one shall ball.
Where did he say that? Also that is a really shitty business model.
He said it an interview about the time Corruption came out I believe.  It's probably one of those lost in translation things.
Not impossible
just highly unlikely
Do not believe anything you read Miyamoto say in an interview. Either it was incompitently translated or he was high at the time.
A volunary bounty hunter?  Yeah Toozins prolly right.  But then again, in Other M Samus does seem a little too selfless and cares about the law a little too much to be a bounty hunter.

it's impossible to be a bounty hunter that works for free. because of what the word "bounty" means. >_>

Well there is some weird cultural barrier with the term bounty hunter. Nintendo of Japan seems to think of it as something closer to a mercenary.

That would still mean she gets paid though.

I think you would just have to be called a 'hero' then, like Superman.

well again, who knows what she's called in japan? if someone does it would be cool to hear. surely it was nintendo of america that came up with calling her a bounty hunter.
