yes ive finnally got round to working on smx 1 again which has been restarted for some time,the latest demo of the old one is attached and so any comments on level design to pallets would be appreciated.
once again progress is now really active and the aesthetics have been greatly improved.
the wait will be for a while maybe next year,maybe earlier depending on how it all turns out :D.

works for headerd btw.

I'll take a look at it and tell you what I think of it.

Ok, looked at it. The fall timer is weird, and you might want to look at your suits some more. Also, what's with the clear lava as soon as you grab the morphing ball? Although, it does look like a lot of work there... Nice job with the room design. I don't think that's a problem. Sorry that it was a bunch of criticism.

After you get the morphing ball, it's practically impossible. It takes way to long to kill those zebetites. You might want to get rid of the rising lava - it's also very hard to see it.

Anyway, I didn't actually play long at all, I just tested out the gravity changes.

Overall I like them, higher speeds and greater acceleration is fun once you get used to it. Getting a 2px/f boost after a walljump was pretty sweet too (would make for great CWJ's :) ). The one thing I really got annoyed by was the "suction" effect on the walls when you are about to move away from one, I would very much like to see that removed/redone, because it was very annoying, and somewhat useless (makes walljupming easier but once you get the timing in you won't need that).

I don't think it was too hard. Well if you don't know that you have to kill everyone to start with and skip one of the bottom ones, it is impossible... But otherwise.

Anyway, the morphball accelerates way slow, the original acceleration for it is good enough IMO.

There was a bg/layer2 glitch when you obtain ice.

It's the same room from the earlier release right?  The first time it's surprising, but it's really not that bad to get by.  As said earlier, just kill the bottom, jump up the right, kill the top, flee.

i think so (although i havent played it in a while)

the hack is dead but you wernt the only one to find that annoying and its not like that in the latest one i can promise Wink

I -think- I played all I can of this? Uhm, got morph ball, speed booster, grapple, ice, and regular missiles. I may have missed something.

There's a game-crashing bug if you shoot in certain places in the rooms near speed booster, probably caused by having an "air" tile with an unusual BTS value; this wouldn't give it any discernable physical differences from any other air piece, but the game will crash when shots try to pass through it. Anyway if it's canned no problem, just wanted you to know so you don't have that problem again and can fix it if you do.

Uh, otherwise, pretty cool. I like your aesthetics. I do agree that it's a bit unnecessary to make the morph ball escape so unforgiving--it's more fun for me if I have enough time to -think- about what I need to do to escape, as opposed to simply dying the first couple times because I don't know the exact order I need to kill space pirates in. As a rule, if your hack requires forward knowledge for survival, it's not a good thing.

Coolest Botwoon fight I've had yet. Took me a minute to realize, "hey, what's HE doing here"...

Your use of pirates is clever. I like the ice beam test too, though I don't think it needs to be as long as it is. Grapple test was a bit annoying since those jumping critters do half an e-tank of damage.

It was possible to get stuck near speed booster room using a short charge if you don't have morph ball bombs; you break bomb tiles under your feet and then you can't get out if they respawn while you're down there.

I don't really have much else to say since it's a canceled project. I like where you're going with this. I hope to see v2.0!

yea seriously 120 posts in a week shows some obsession(ive only made 70 something in like 7 months or so)

and cheers acheron ( i thought i cleared those glitches up ! )

and as i now know how to do scroll plms i can make the game even less linear :D.
